Predict AM's 2008 season

hornrush, why do we care... b/c its the offseason and there isn't **** else to talk about football related. so either give a real response or f off.

as for anm's season, im very interested to see how goodson runs out of the i formation and javorsky out of the FB spot. thats gotta be quite a change for both of em.

Arkansas Light W
New Mexico W - watch the spread the Lobos may earn you a few bucks that weekend
Miami L
Army W
Oklahoma St. W - give A$M the benefit of the doubt
Kansas St W - see OSU
Texas Tech L
Iowa St W
Colorado L
Oklahoma L
Baylor W
Texas L

Giving aggie the tossups 7 -5; though 6-6 or 5-7 is very possible.

We've had myriad offseason discussions here why the Horns will be lucky to win 6 this year. Might as well chime in on an Aggie one.

First of all, Johnson will be their starting QB this year, not McGee.
So there'll be a learning curve & some rough going early on, but A&M should squead out close wins vs. UNM, Army (or "West Point" if you're Tellus) and pig aggy.

After that, they're looking at about a .500 season, so 7-5 sounds about right.

They EASILY go 9-3. Outside chance of 10-2 if they can pull off an upset of OU or us.

Who the f predicts a loss to ISU? They're horrible.

Goodson will get the bulk of the carries (and probably overall touches, including receptions), which will only mean good things.

New Mexico isn't going to impress very much beyond the MWC. I think A&M pulls out a double digit win there.

Miami also isn't as awesome as everyone thinks. That was by FAR their worst game last year, and they'll have revenge on the mind at home.

OK State is more predictable now. Not that A&M will beat them soundly, but it wouldn't be surprising if they pulled that one off.

They'll lose to Tech for sure.

Hey, anytime.

Any friend of the Ag athletic department can always get a more honest straight forward unbias opinions here,

7-5 but Miami game is a bit of a toss up to me... I think they stumble on the road to OSU. Win vs. CU will be very close - maybe a late FG to win. The other L's speak for themselves.

My personal opinions:

The Ag athletic department surrogates would like to spin the lie of only 8 wins for A&M so that the newly hired #8 ranked Big 12 coach and #46 out of 66 bcs coaches, RC's boy and Byrne's Sherman, will look like a better hire to Aggies when A&M goes 11-1 or 12-0 this season.

Especially after mostly recruiting only leftover no stars in the current class.

Everyone who follows A&M football closely knows that this team is loaded at every position this year with experienced talented backups at every position. The defensive starters at every position are acknowledged as the best we've had in many many years.

The red shirt juniors and seniors this year are the same starters that as red shirt fish and sophs, led A&M to a 9 win season, and within one point of beating ou to play in the Big 12 champ game for a bcs bowl. They are all back and hungry.

The gross distraction of uncertainty, created and fostered by Byrne last year, cost the A&M team and coaches several wins as well as 14 top ranked decommits.

If Byrne's Sherman doesn't coach as badly at A&M as he did, taking over a Green Bay team with Brett Farve, then A&M is your Big 12 champ this year, period.

RC's boy, Byrne's Sherman was fired at Green Bay, and his replacement almost immediately led Green Bay back to being champs again this year with the same players.

Every Big 12 team lost 17 or more seniors this year, many of them starters, and so is definitely A&M's year.

Remember it was the same Ag athletic department surrogates just a few months ago spinning the lies about "the emphasis on recruiting" with the hire of each of the 10 new coaches, when an actual review of their individual resumes showed that the new coaches had only recruited 2 four star and zero five star players, between all 10 coaches in the last five years.

This A&M team will be a surprise Big 12 Champ only to those who haven't been following them closely for the last five years.

A&M a rebuilding and a winning season in 2006, and champs in 2008!

My personal opinions;

Dude, you're absolutely right about Sherman at Green Bay.

He wasn't even Green Bay's first choice as head coach when Holmgren left.

Obviously, Sherman should not have been A&M's first choice either, after the results of the last and current recruiting classes.

But Sherman was at Green Bay fired for taking a champ team to a losing 4-12 record..

I only hope he doesn't take A&M's championship team this year, and do the same thing he did at Green Bay.

Texas Jack is correct. Stanford over USC was one of the greatest upsets of all time. App State is 3 time defending 1-AA champs - not exactly a pushover.

Give me a break. A Div. 1-AA victory on the road over a ranked 1-A opponent is always a much bigger upset than an intraconference win.

Stanford was 4-8 last year, including a victory over Cal. Not exactly a powerhouse team, but not chopped liver either. It happens every year: conference teams beat much better opponents in "trap" games (like our '06 loss to K State).

OTOH, I believe App State's win in Ann Arbor was the first time
in NCAA history a 1-AA program had beaten a top-10 team. That makes it a much bigger upset, regardless of how many 1-AA championships the Mountaineers have won.
