Google maps also don’t prioritize their routes based on past history of accidents and other delays. I would much rather take a route that is 5-10 min longer but has 1/10th less chance of a 30-60 minute delay.

Apparently American Airlines is using the same google map capability. During the weather delays two weeks ago, my sister-in-law was visiting us here in Arlington. One of the suggested rerouting schedules to get her back to Orange County, CA, was through Miami.
