Racist and redneck are sufficient conditions, not necessary ones, I thought that was implied well enough. They're located most prominently in the south but you knew that before you asked. I have no idea where you would be “lumped.”

Bringing up Byrd's history with the KKK in a modern discussion is about as useful as bringing up Nixon. But, it makes some people feel better about themselves to do so, so I guess it won't stop.
