If Georgia wins, the margin of defeat won’t matter. In that situation, we’ll be in only if FSU (or Michigan) loses.Hopefully not by much more. We need Alabama looking good, but not great, even in defeat.
It will though because our ace in the hole is a 10pt win over Alabama. We don’t want that devalued in any way. Some on the committee may question our win early in the season if Georgia blows them out. Best situation for us is a close Georgia win, which would eliminate Alabama yet maintain the significance of our win over them.If Georgia wins, the margin of defeat won’t matter. Agreed! That was an entertaining game.
Side note, only 61,195 attended - so not even sold out. I get that the game was in Vegas, but that's probably why there isn't a PAC 12 anymore.
I sort it out like this in the three way tie:Look at it this way, If Georgia loses then we end up in a three-way tie with Alabama and Georgia. How do you sort that out? I don’t want to be in that situation. If Georgia wins then Alabama is eliminated - like Oregon. We want teams to get a second loss if possible.
Ok, but now that Oregon is out, who jumps us if Georgia takes out Bama big time? FSU won’t if they lose to Louisville, and Michigan won’t if they (somehow) lose to Iowa.It will though because our ace in the hole is a 10pt win over Alabama. We don’t want that devalued in any way. In my locality (Houston) it’s the CBS affiliate that is owned by Tegna and thus is blacked out on ATT DirecTV and Uverse. I get tired of this crap. In the new year I’m going to drop DirectTV and just stream everything on YouTube TV.I’m in the same boat. I scrambled all afternoon to overcome it.
I was watching Tim Tebow on GMA this morning and they specifically asked him about Texas. He said that Texas not only has to win but needs to dominate and look really good in order to impress the committee. We will jump the Ducks and Ohio State with a win today. So we’re really sitting at the 5 position. We’re in if both Bama and Florida State lose. In other any other scenario we’re left to trust the committee, and that ain’t a good thing.
No one. That’s our clear path, drama free way into the playoff. What I’ve been saying all along, in chronological order: Washington win, we win, Georgia win, Louisville win. Michigan doesn’t matter. They have like a 95% chance of winning. So it ends up being Georgia, Michigan, Washington, and Texas. In that order.Ok, but now that Oregon is out, who jumps us if Georgia takes out Bama big time? FSU won’t if they lose to Louisville, and Michigan won’t if they (somehow) lose to Iowa.
Maybe Tim knows something we don’t know. Maybe, somehow, Ohio State is still in play. Or maybe we still have a chance even if Florida State wins.I was watching Tim Tebow on GMA this morning and they specifically asked him about Texas. I think the latter, or if Bama wins.Maybe Tim knows something we don’t know. Maybe, somehow, Ohio State is still in play. Or maybe we still have a chance even if Florida State wins.
Well, to be fair, if Texas had let ou score that fast, we still would have had over a minute left and could have won the game without needing a Hail Mary. So there is that.Where did Huskies learn to collapse in the second half like that?
Why does Bama get a free ride on this? They’ve won close games too. With that said, Texas needs to meet expectations that they are clearly better than Oklahoma St.I was watching Tim Tebow on GMA this morning and they specifically asked him about Texas. I hear you, and there are definitely no parties with squeaky clean hands here. But i think most of the blame goes to the affiliates rather than DirecTV. The affiliates are trying to get DirecTV to pay more for their signal, and if DirecTV does so, it will just result in higher costs for the consumer/veiwer.In my locality (Houston) it’s the CBS affiliate that is owned by Tegna and thus is blacked out on ATT DirecTV and Uverse. Yes indeed, I read in one article that Tegna is demanding a double- digit percentage increase in the carriage fee to be paid by DirecTV.I hear you, and there are definitely no parties with squeaky clean hands here. I know many people here in the DFW area who “cut the cord” to go with YT or Hulu, but they couldn’t get Bally’s on YT to watch the Mavs/Rangers/Stars, and Hulu later dropped Bally’s because it wouldn’t pay Bally’s the astronomical fee. (And Bally’s is now bankrupt). They saved $30 per month (even less, as YT raised its prices), yet couldn’t watch much of the sports they wanted. What’s the point then?
In my humble opinion, DirecTV Stream is the best option for the sports fan. I’m not familiar with Fubo; it may be better than YT or Hulu.
Not just focusness...MUCHER FOCUSNESS!Texas next. Need focusness.
