Over/Under on Number of Players Singing the Eyes

I feel as strongly about this issue as I have about anything in a while, but people of good faith can disagree without being ridiculously stupid and awful to each other. I want the song to stay, I want my memories of it being sung at graduations, family events, weddings and funerals and every sporting event associated with UT to not be tarnished by all of this fighting. And more than anything I want it to mean to everyone what it means to me, that we are all obligated to go out and make the world a better place because the eyes of Texas are upon us.

But damn, Auschwitz? Really Auschwitz? How the hell does that even come into this conversation. Do everyone a favor and delete that post.
You're right and I apologize. My point was along the lines of give an inch and they'll take a mile.

You are correct buuuut .... but can also admire the debate skill -- it was a clever play on the earlier Neville Chamberlain line. Trap set. Trap deployed

They can refuse to play the school song, as ridiculous as it sounds. I will concede they have that right. But the school Athletic Director also has rights and powers. Among them is the decision whether to allow the band a ticket allotment for football games. He should pull them. No halftime music show. Dogs with frisbees are cool anyway. Or just walk Bevo to midfield and back. Maybe let him poop on the Big-12 logo while in transit.

Then let band alumni play our song post-game. I dont know the logistics of letting 50 and 60-year olds walk in the gates with tubas and slide trumpets, but I am sure there is a way to make it work. I could easily see that quickly becoming a very fun new post-game tradition. Just stay and have a post-game mini-concert. Current band members can watch on TV from a specially designated safe space. It's a win-win.

Great idea Joe! At least, it works for me.
