Our next OC and DC

Harrell and his dad still hold a grudge. And I don't blame them. He would have easily started for us from 2006 onward, considering his relative strengths versus Colt's. We had zero in the pipeline and took a flyer on Colt because we whiffed in the 2003 QB class. Perriloux committed to us early. Meanwhile, Harrell was setting records at Ennis against decent competition compared to what Colt faced; but since Colt was "mobile," and that matched what GD liked doing with VY, we closed up shop on QB recruiting.

I'd be shocked if Harrell has any interest in the job, but he could be leveraging "interest" in it to get his pay raises or looks from other organizations.

I'm not a Cumbie fan either. If we're going after a Texas Tech person, it might as well be someone who coached under Leach and moved to another branch of the coaching tree. I'm not personally familiar with Chiaverini, but I like his style. If you haven't read about his JUCO turnaround (team went from 1-10 to 10-1 with an offensive philosophy change), that's the kind of mentality shift we need here after years of ineptitude. If you remember how Jakeem Grant abused us, he was entirely Chiaverini's protege. He knows how to get the most out of receivers, and if your staff isn't using receivers correctly (like ours), you lose.

I don't know most the names being bantered around, but I'd caution against hiring one-year-wonder boys and try to get somebody who has done it successfully over a period of time. Their coaching philosophy must be one Herman agrees with, of course, and they need to be kickass recruiters.

Are you one of those guys that would say no to Cindy Crawford because she has a mole on her face?
If you are, then I'm done talking to you, because you are crazy.

I like the idea of Brady but the safer bet may be Graham Harrell due to his play calling experience. And THAT was the issue this year. I wonder and I am just asking cause I don't know, who would be a better choice between Harrell and Morris?? Sports writers say Harrell, but what do they know?

The only way I want to see Chad Morris in Memorial Stadium is if he buys a ticket.

The Harrell family can hate all they want, but nobody of consequence recruited him because of his attitude. He carried that on to Tech, where his team laid down in the first half of the Gator Bowl.

Again, someone that knows him well convince me he’s a different person than he was in Ennis and in Lubbock.

Except according to reports they cannot stand being in the same room together.

Chad Morris and Majestic??

Additionally, he would likely be the OC...which he will not be at LSU unless Orgeron promotes him and displaces his current OC.

I suspect he stays at LSU but this is one advantage that could help us. Full O/C with play calling responsibilities vs co-O/C without them.

I'm liking Scott Carey or Stephen Lee for OC. A good coach is a good coach no matter what level they are currently.

11, I may have overlooked your comment, but I did not read that in your earlier post. Tell us about Chiaverini.

'Harrell is the better choice between Morris and him, but like I said, we won't get either.'

PomPom, tell us more about these 2 prospects......

Just fyi, TCU largest donors would pay for anyone to come get Cumbie, he has no fans in Fort Worth.

I don't care who we get as OC but they have to have a few rules...

Use the tight end, just every once in a while

Throw over the middle, just some times

Quit the Greg Davis screen for a loss of 3 yards.

On the wish list would be QB under center on short yardage and maybe even throw in a FB to blast the hole open.
