CHOP,

So I don't get out much and am ill-informed .... what is the character on your Avatar?
He he he …

Some people say it’s an angry turd, but it’s actually the LaMesa Golden Tornado mascot. I’m not a LaMesa guy myself—although I do pronounce it correctly. There was a long back and forth over it on some thread somewhere a few months back. I thought this mascot was hilarious. So there it is.

The movie Hell or High Water captured much of the essence of that pocket of the state. Although a lot of it was filmed in Eastern New Mexico.

That area with Clovis, Portales, Artesia, Roswell, and Hobbs always seemed to me like it belonged more in the Panhandle/South Plains of Texas than being part of New Mexico.

:orst: V :uw:

Both are 6-2. Oregon St is ranked #23. The Beavers have some nifty misdirection and counter plays. And some pretty good blocking. They’re pulling a lot and moving their linemen. First time I’ve seen them this season.

And Damien Martinez of Lewisville, Texas is a real good Freshman RB. 3 star Texas HS RB. Now the feature back of the #23 team in the nation—as a Freshman.

7-0 Oregon St.

Where is @volhorn4life
?

I'm here just trying to keep my mouth shut. I've seen so much negativity here about Tennessee and the SEC I figure it's best not to say anything. :smile1: This program has been in such terrible shape for so long I'm just waiting for the wheels to come off. I'm having a hard time believing this team is as good as they're playing....I'm keeping low expectations for today so I'm not disappointed. Kind of how I approach every Texas season now.

Guess I would rather see Tenessee win but either way a definitive victory. I could just imagine a rematch in the playoffs if the game is close. Yes and Bama too.

I’m waiting for the moment when jimbo chews on his qb one too many times and gets popped right in the chops!!
I’m not calling for that, but…..

:tech:

Now Shough (“Shuck”) is in for Tech at QB. He’s coming off an injury from last year. He played very well for Oregon the year before.

I figure they will, but Tech is a giant killer, and this makes for a potential trap game.

TCU 13
Tech 10

Going into the half. It’s got the makings of a trap game. Frog star WR Quentin Johnston is out. (ankle)

Frogs got away with PI on that last long bomb. CB all over him before the ball came.

Ha! Doesn’t matter. The very next play, Tech WR makes an awesome catch against his back at around the same yardage. There was also PI by the Frog CB.

They overturn it. Incomplete pass.

Well, they’d better let the Tech DBs also get away with PI. If they’re not going to call it, then at least be consistent.

Suppose the ball had not hit the ground, but the TTech player was just lying there with his hand pushing the ball into the TCU's player's back. Could it still be argued that the TTech receiver did not "complete" the catch because that player did not "control" the ball? He was just using an opposing player's back as a prop.

Army makes a goalline stand, including an interesting trip tackle. AF settles for the FG.
