I knew I shoulda stayed up! Missed the Aggy implosion.

I wanted to see that game in real time but I had to turn out the lights by 9. I’ve been sick for the last week, first with a vicious URI that laid me out flat for 2+ days with 4 degrees of fever followed with a bout of pneumonia serious enough to land me in the hospital for 2 days (and I’m still recovering from). My luck that this game was broadcast after my bedtime.

Venables was a superb DC - no doubt. But he may be one of those guys who can excel as a Coordinator, but can't excel as a Head Coach. He wouldn't be the only one. Time will tell - but time is not on his side. The Osoner fan base does not have a lot of patience.

Tech does not lose because of hiring a successful high school coach but because it is in Lubbock and people who are not from rural areas in west Texas suffer culture shock when they step off the plane. So recruiting is always a problem.

And they can't offer Lamborghinis and great gobs of cash to the scholar athletes like the wealthier schools

If UT was in Lubbock we would win about 8 games a year. We do that anyway as often as not during my lifetime.
