OTHER GAMES

So glad Texas doesn’t jack around with their classic uniforms. Why Ohio st is wearing red pants rather than their traditional silver/grey makes them look like Louisville
By the end of the game, he was slobbering all over them. No announcer should be allowed to do games involving schools that they attended.

I know this is a type of gamesmanship and protecting seats for other fans. At the same time it is disrespectful to kids who work just as hard as the players, exhibit a talent of their own and are just as excited to be part of the game. Unless it is a payback for similar treatment, it is classless.

And we (UT-Austin) need to set an example and start giving opposing bands decent seats. It's such Bush League junk to do otherwise. It's like Bay City Blackcats fans slashing the tires of the visiting school's bus.

Way back when I was in high school, some members of our band had knives pulled on them in Wharton.

The aggie runs strong down there, but they do raise some impressive Brahman cattle.

Related Trivia: Terry's Texas Rangers -- B.F. Terry died early on in the Civil War, and was succeeded by Lubbock. Lubbock died shortly later, and Wharton became a General and one of the main leaders of Terry's Texas Rangers throughout the Civil War. Wharton was murdered back in Texas by George W. Baylor during an argument over military policies. Wharton was unarmed when he was killed by Baylor. Prior to the war, Wharton was a large and very wealthy sugarcane plantation owner in Brazoria County.

Commanders get go-ahead TD against Eagles with 6 seconds left despite having turned it over five times in the game. Washington's victory eliminates the Cowboys and 49ers from any chance of making the playoffs. . . . Panthers beat Cardinals in OT to eliminate Cardinals from playoff contention.

We are required to provide the visiting band seats in the lower bowl, hence they are placed in Sections 31, 32, 131, & 132

That is not what I am seeing at the games. That is where they USED to be, about 5 or so years ago, but not anymore. These days, they are more like 118-119 area.

Phil,

It was changed this year because of a mandate from the SEC. Visiting team gets the Southeast corner as well as tickets in northeast corner. The edict states that the visiting SEC band MUST BE in the lower bowl.

OK, perhaps I did not go to a game this year where the visitors brought their band. I have had season tickets since 87 but this year I missed an unprecedented 3 home games due to other commitments.

Please explain your comment about 131-132? Those are upper deck.

The idea is that 131/132 are actually just an extension of 31/32 unlike the West side with the upper deck. It was just easier to put schools with limited attendees in those four sections with northeast upper corner for their overflow.

We have had some visiting teams with larger than expected attendance. Florida brought a sizable crowd. What bothered me most about that arrangement is watching the section the recruits are in with their families and seeing an unusually large numbers of off-color clothing. Keep them away from the recruits/parent's section.
