OTHER GAMES

On third and 11 from his own seven, Bo Nix threw TD pass to Marvin Mims Jr. It went about half that distance in the air. . . . and then the Browns responded immediately with a 70 yard TD pass to Jerry Jeudy on the very first play of their next possession.

Browns lead 32-31 with 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Winston has thrown for more than 400 yards and 4 TDs. Jeudy has 8 receptions for 219 yards and a TD. . . . After taking the lead by 2 on a FG with less than three minutes left, the Broncos get another pick six off Winston to ice the game.

Clemson fans have beheaded a chicken by wringing its neck on the field before a game vs. the Cocks before.
So I guess next year Arkansas will slaughter a cow in one endzone and we'll slaughter a pig in the other endzone before the game...:rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1:

All the gimmickry is getting rather stupid. Play the game, let your talking, and hitting, on the field speak for you.

2023 Portallers update!

Did it alphabetically to save time.

BJ Allen - played sparingly for UNT. Had an important FF against Army but they didn't capitalize on it.

X'Avion Brice - also at UNT, got in dime situations and pretty much nothing else. Wasn't used as much as Allen.

Terrance Brooks - battled the injury bug all year at Illinois and called it a season back in October. Bielema was tight-lipped about what the injury was, but someone leaked that it was a "non-contact, non-football related" type.

S'Maje Burrell - played a decent amount of LB for SHSU. It's odd to say it, but SHSU was deeper at LB than we were for this year, so it makes sense that he didn't get out there as much.

Casey Cain - his season is still going for UNLV, so that's some good news. The bad news is that he's used about as much there as he was here. He's seen as their speedy, big play threat, so maybe like the "5th WR" type.

Trill Carter - I honestly don't know what happened to him. I think it's probably a combination of no playing time and no production, but he rarely got in for Auburn.

Jalen Catalon - Maybe the one we let slip away, but he had an All-MWC season for UNLV. 5 picks and a TD. 5 TFL and 2 sacks. Routinely makes huge hits. I think his injury at Texas kind of opened the door for Taaffe and eventually Williams and Mukuba to take over all of the meaningful safety roles. But he's been awesome for the Rebs. Kind of wish we had a do-over for him.

Kitan Crawford - might be behind Catalon on the All-MWC list, but he had an excellent year for Nevada. Was a regular starter and had a couple picks (one TD) and great overall play.

Sawyer Goram-Welch - Back in his normal DT position for Coastal Carolina, he had a good year as a run-stuffing down lineman for over half those snaps. Tim Beck is his coach and I think Coastal kind of undershot expectations this year.

Austin Jordan - Not much to say about his year at TCU. Appeared in every game but 1, but mostly as a 6th DB and didn't get a ton of stats. A couple TFL it appears.

Payton Kirkland - Played a little bit of backup OT for CU but never for any meaningful plays or snaps.

Maalik Murphy - The big caveat for him is that he's performing well for Duke, which generally doesn't have QBs who perform well. He should have upset SMU if they had a kicking game. His turnovers really sank them against Miami, but I wouldn't say that's the worst. He's very, very immobile, which I think doesn't help his stock nationwide. I think if he can develop into more of a short game passer and use others to open up the run, he can be more efficient.

Isaiah Neyor - started the year with Raiola very well but kind of faded in November. I would have thought after Nebraska's nonconference slate that he'd end up an All-B1G receiver. He won't, but it was a solid year.

Savion Red - playing APB for Nevada, he started out AWESOME and then had a really long decline. He was getting like 6-10 ypc in some of those early games, but injuries caught him and he had fewer than 2 ypc in all of his November games. I think there's a chance he could be like the "non-QB offensive newcomer of the year" for the MWC if that was an award. We needed some RBs this year until Wisner took over against UK and A&M.

J'Mond Tapp - was only listed on one participation report for Arizona State, but also no injuries too. It's either a doghouse issue, or there just aren't any Edge spots available.

Jerrin Thompson - was probably the best DB for Auburn this year. That's not really saying much. Managed to get back up to his junior year level in tackling and still had some good plays in terms of PD and INT. Teams tried to take advantage of Auburn with the run game and he was pretty stout in that. I don't think he'll get any all-SEC nods, but he wasn't bad.

Larry Turner-Gooden - got in 11 games for SJSU but was mostly used on special teams and the occasional backup DB.

Billy Walton - while he wasn't as good as Collin Simmons this year (hence the reason for him leaving), I think he has a good future. Played in 8 games for SMU and made some really hard stops, despite just 1 TFL on the year. I think with some more playing time and another year of development, he'll be mentioned among some of the good ACC DLs.

Charles Wright - showed up at App State for spring practice and didn't finish the semester before leaving the program.

Wow. Great summation.
Thank you for putting it together for us.

Interesting in that it was Catalon and Crawford I didn’t want to lose last year.

ASU QB just threw desperation pass to avoid sack. No intentional grounding. Announcers said it was because he was outside the tackle box. However, he threw the ball standing on the left hash, which is exactly where the ball was snapped. Could not possibly have been more perfectly "inside" the tackle box. :)

The Big XII may have run out of "favors" to pass out, and their head of officials moved on, but the officiating is still incompetent at best.

I have a hard time understanding the parameters of “intentional grounding” because it seems to be very rarely called anymore.
