OTHER GAMES

long bomb streak down the sideline. TD ASU! 81 yard TD catch!

ASU 31
Oregon 21

3:54 left in game.

ASU started shooting itself in the foot with the delay of game on first down. Then on third they go deep. The O coverage is too soft.

So what does ASU do? Play a soft zone and let Herbert march the Ducks into ASU territory.

Nice open field tackle by Williams.

Almost an INT. Herbert brain farted.

Herbert moves the Ducks inside the red zone.

Jailbreak screen actually works. O TD!

ASU 31
Oregon 28

2:04 left.

Onside kick. Fumbled by ASU but recovered by ASU. O was offsides. ASU ball.

Refs trying to give OU the game. Pathetic. How can Big12 refs consistently not know how to spot a ball.

*** check it, the fix was in. Announcers saying it's not even close to a 1st down. But hey, gotta make sure they get a 1 loss team into the playoffs so refs just give it to them anyway.

Don’t you just love the way the conference cheats in favor of OU? Wow. I’m talking about the first down call at the end of the game, that wasn’t. Pure cheat by the officials.

Someone needs to have the cajones to call out this type of cheating. The TCU AD should. But no one will. Until they do, this crap will continue to happen. OU is the conference’s best shot at the CFP so the officials cheat.

Utah is beating up on Ariz. Utah is the most physical team in the West. Still in the playoff picture.

Utah 21
Ariz 0

It's time to blow this thing up. I'd rather be an also ran in the Big vs an also ran in the B12. We can just be like aggy and root for the conference.

The refs were going to be scapegoated either way. How does one make a clear cut call when the camera angles are not on the line of scrimmage and other players are blocking view of the ball? Also, even if OU was denied the first down, the way their defense was playing--at that point in the game--it's doubtful that TCU would have scored the needed touchdown. Bottom line, it's virtually impossible to call out this type of 'cheating'.

2 weeks after not calling a blatant PI when they stopped Iowa State's 2-point conversion by clobbering the receiver well before the ball arrived.

Some follow up thoughts on how the college games on Saturday (11/23) turned out:

The big upset was ASU taking down Oregon. I was able to watch most of the second half. ASU had their number. ASU made some big explosive plays, and mostly made Herbert (Oregon QB) earn what he got. Herbert was still almost able to pull off the come from behind victory. So scratch Oregon from the potential playoff contenders.

Ohio State is every bit as good as advertised and as they've played all year. Right not, I can't tell who is better: aOSU or LSU. Those two teams have played head and shoulders above everyone else. But lookout, the Buckeyes still face tough challenges before the playoff (assuming they make it, which is not a certainty if they lose). They great rivalry of the college football North is on deck: Michigan v. Ohio State. Follow that with Minnesota (or maybe Wisconsin) for the conference championship game. Minnesota beat Penn St. as well. And Wisconsin is one of the few teams in the country that can more or less match the Buckeyes up front (I say more or less...).

Navy took down SMU. No shame there. Navy has quietly put together a very good season and is probably the 2nd best team in the conference behind only Memphis (who has much more talent than anyone in that conference).

TCU got jobbed by the refs against OU. They still might have lost, but it would have been nice to see a fair game.

USC beats UCLA. USC's record would be an accomplishment for most coaches, but not at USC--their fans are probably even more demanding and at times unrealistic than us (and that's saying a lot). If they can't or won't get Urban, they might just keep Helton around another year (or more if he works out).

aTm is defeated by Georgia, but not badly. As much as I despise that program, aTm isn't bad. They're not good, but they're not bad. The ags are a good QB away from really being somebody. Flame away. I don't care. Just telling it like it is.

One of best games of the day was Oregon State at Wazzou. Ending was outstanding.

Also loved Manny Diaz and the convicts getting dominated by Butch Davis' FIU squad

49ers have stuffed GB so far and lead 23-0 at the half. Unfortunately, Marquise Goodwin is a healthy inactive. Rodgers is 10 for 20 for less than 40 yards so far. . . . . Rodgers led GB on long, time-consuming drive for much of the third quarter, and GB finally scored a TD and a two point conversion. However, SF came back and scored in just two plays, both passes. Now, it's 30-8 with less than 3 minutes left in the third quarter. . . . Packers long, promising drive ends with a failed 4th down conversion, and 49ers answer with a long drive (69 yards in 6 1/2 minutes) for another TD. 37-8 with less than 5 minutes to go in the fourth. . . . GB waves the white flag and sits Rodgers to preserve his health for the rest of this (lost cause) game.

Malcolm Brown has only been in for a few plays as usual for the Rams, but the story of the first half is Lamar Jackson with 9 for 9 passing, including three TD passes, plus 80 yards rushing already at the half. The guy is unreal. . . . Throws his fourth TD pass on Ravens first drive of second half. . . . .Fifth TD pass to begin the fourth quarter. Only QB in the 50 year history of Monday Night Football to have 5 TD passes in his Monday night debut. Six possessions for the Ravens so far in the game--and six TDs. . . .RG3 in to close out the game. Justin Tucker kicks field goal for 45-6 lead.

I had a 39 pt lead in fantasy going into Monday night and my opponent had LJ. He had 36 through 3 quarters and only thing that saved me was they pulled him.
