One nation, under God!

NBC didn’t give the big “F YOU” to 90% of Americans, as some of you are trying to make it seem. I would bet the majority of us 90%ers don’t care if ‘under God’ is in the pledge or not, yet we still manage to believe. No, NBC gave the big “F YOU” to the subset of you that are highly offended by trivial things such as this – and I for one am OK with it.

I'm American, and I'm Christian. I love God, and I love my country.

And I deliberately leave out the phrase "under God" whenever I recite the Pledge. I think God's got more important things to worry about than whether I say "under God." He knows I love Him.

IRC - So you have a problem with NBC exercising it's freedom of speech during an intro to a golf tournament? Why?

Listen, I think NBC was stupid to do this. I think there's a 100% chance they did this in order to NOT offend a very small segment of their viewership - which is pretty ridiculous to me, even though I think the words "under God" are kind of stupid to include in the Pledge anyway. I don't have a problem with what they did, I just think I would have done something different (either not use the Pledge, or not edit it in this way). No harm, no foul to me. Seems like you have an actual problem with it though?

As I stated above, I would have no problem if those two words were taken back out of the Pledge. No problem at all.

But right now, they are in the Pledge of Allegiance. If you want to air it, then air it. If you don't then don't. But don't tell me they edited for time, or any other stupid ********.

"Someone" at NBC, (and NOT NBC which is a company and has no personal conscience or ethic whatsoever), but "someone" decided to tweak the nose not of Christians, but of the country.

If YOU are offended by those two words, get your congresscritter to try and have them changed.

If you want to edit, edit, but what they did was hamfisted and designed to offend.

To suggest that it was designed to avoid offense is just well, stupid. Sorry, but you demanded I say it.

bronco - What Dio wants is for religious folks to keep their religion to themselves. That's wholly different from wanting them to not have the right to express their opinion. Do you not see the difference?

"Bet you wouldn't fight for the country either."

Liberals haven't fought for their country?

What an assinine thing to write.

CPF, you managed to write: "people like you" in each of your two posts on this topic. You seem to have everyone on here all figured out. Congrats.

That is interesting coming from someone who has shown to be ultra-sensitive to the characterizations directed toward him on here.

Cedar Park

Your post says much more about what you don't know about yourself than it does about what you know about me or whomever you imagine the "lefties" to be. I will grant that it must be comfortable to pat yourself on the back for being braver, smarter and just plain better than those evil, conveniently homogenized libs you've been told about.

Also, you might want to get your irony deafness looked into.

cedar park: you need to get your time frames right. back in the forties, the country was run by leftists----FDR, etc. It was the republicans' isolationist wing that was anti war.

This demonization of the left is an ongoing effort by people who are denying history.

Some of the "haters" like nbc just can't see the trees for the forest.

This country is founded on god and better stay that way.If you look at their silly shows you'de be led to believe that the world is over a trillion years old , yet the bible clearly teaches that it's about 6000 years old.

When 14bevo finally reveals his true identity to us all it will be glorious. So which previous "left poster" do you think 14bevo is?
