One nation, under God!

NBC is owned by General Electric, a known front group for the atheistic godless communist conspiracy.

GE is the one that hired Ronald Reagan, the well known liberal actor during the forties and fifties as their corporate spokesman after he was president of a labor union.

IT is all so clear what the atheists and secular humanists are trying to do.

I will do my part in fighting GE by not buying anymore massive electrical turbine generators.

I've thought about this for a while and have come to the conclusion that it was probably intentional and intended not to offend the 10 percent of this country that doesn't believe in God.

But I think I'm OK with removing those words. Frankly it sounds very hypocritical to me, since this nation is not, in fact, "under God". We can say it all day long, but that doesn't make it any more true.

Actually......Comcast owns NBC now.

I didn't know "one nation under God" was a product of the 50s. Interesting.

As for NBC.....the apology doesn't wash. They should broadcast what was actually said, not what they think should have been said. I think this country can handle it.

There have been some pretty reprehensible people who want to make God a political issue. I have my beliefs and I honor those who likewise make faith a central part of their lives. Meaningful communication requires an engaged heart and brain, which admittedly doesn't always happen when I pledge allegiance.

Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America, nothing better. Pledge of Allegiance is contrived patriotism. Kind of like flag pins on a politician's lapel.

For once, I get to have my cake and eat it too!

First, I understand the change to the pledge during Ike's administration and I have long held the opinion that the Pledge of Allegiance is just fine without the words "under God" in it.

"One Nation, Indivisable, with Liberty and Justice..." works just fine for me.

But the Pledge is the pledge and someone at NBC clearly and undeniably was sending a message. To pretend otherwise strains the bounds of credulity.

If we could get the Lefties who notoriously posted above with their applause for the action to say and mean the Pledge with or without those two words, then we would be making some real progress. [ed: No pun intended.]

But their position is clear, doncha' think?

And at least they are happy to admit it. That helps.

Initially, my gut reaction was to ponder what's wrong with America (if under God is in the Pledge then it should be said, heard, whatever), but after having read some of the opinions I have to say that I'm sort of on the fence on this one. It's definitely something that I sort of WANT to be mad because I feel like it's a good tradition to hold on to, but on the other hand I don't have a logical argument to offer....so.....I'll bow out and read some more.

anybody bothered by the word "indivisible?" As we know, the country was divided once and 600,000 people got killed working that one out. And history tells us no nation lasts forever, so why should this one be different? In time our beloved country will morph into something else or get wiped out by another tribe or disappear in some fashion. So why recite a pledge that cannot and will not be kept?

I usually edit it by saying I pledge allegiance to the United States of America and liberty. Which is true beyond any doubt. I really don't care what others pledge allegiance to.

I get the feeling a lot of you would be happy if God disappeared from our lives. I have been going to church for a long time now and not once did I hear our preacher talk about politics. We did hear to treat our fellow man with respect and to help the helpless. We send medical supplies to various needy countries every year, feed the sick, payed for college for kids that could not afford it. Basically we tried to help our neighbors in a time of need. We collected money anytime their was a national disaster, or foreign for that matter. There are religious nuts out there, but most Christians in this country are good people who mind their own business. Children are taught kindness and right from wrong in church, is that wrong? When I read responses that God should be left out of our lives I am saddened for people that feel that way. I will bet that if we were having a camel race the word Mohamed would not have been left out by NBC.

No it is becoming politically correct to take God out of the conversation, not so with some other religions. It is polictical suicide to say anything ill about certain religions, the press will make you pay. If you think a group of zealots that follow a paticular religion that are hell bent on destroying us is a boogey man, then so be it.

Oh please let the intellectually superior liberals lead us to the promised land. Let big brother fix all our problems, and we can live in utopia. Einstein, Newton, Kant, Descartes, Kelvin, just some of the retards that believed in God.
