One nation, under God!

Anyone else notice during the introduction to the U.S. Open, NBC edited out the phrase "one nation under God" from the Pledge of allegiance? Later in the show the announcers made a brief apology. This left wing agenda of the networks never ceases to amaze me. It's a f'in sporting event.

If any of the usual suspects honestly believe NBC made an innocent editing error TWICE that somehow omitted the phrase ' Under God" and that it got edited for " time"TWICE they need to contact me immediately
I have such a deal for them, make them millionaires BUT WAIT BUT WAIT
act now and I will make them billionaires.

NBC is hoping millions are too stupid to pay attention. We will see how many of them are on WM

Glad to see NBC doing the govts job. Wait, what part of the US Open is a public institution supported by tax payers and how is the network responsible for policing this anyway? I call a boycott on "America's Got Talent."

Anyone who doesn't buy into the religious fanaticism of certain fairy tale-believing zealots = left wing. I'm 23, and this is about a solid an absolute truth as I'm ever going to learn on this planet.

Even if I've voted Republican, and am right of the center ideologically.

NBC is a private company that chose to make a creative decision during a live broadcast. What's the big deal, again?

Good for them. That is the line I dislike the most. I actually think the pledge is pretty ridiculous to begin with. It served a purpose at one point but that is long gone.

Whatever you feel about the appropriateness of the line is irrelevant. The pledge officially contains the line, and NBC had to intentionally edit it out.

The only reason to do so would be to make a political statement.

Funny how an error on Fox shows how stupid they are (Link), but this intentional change is no "big deal"

I served, I get emotional on more days than the two token days we are told to do so (emotional for fallen vets and friends who served with me) and I qm fine with this. Happy, actually. Wtg, NBC.

Wow, reading the replies of the lefties on this board is scary. Makes me wonder, what do you guys believe in?

Of course it was a calculated move on nbc's part. It suits the left-wing agenda that they regularly promote on msnbc, you know the pro-gay, pro-abortion, anti-God, anti-US agenda of Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, and company.

I hear nbc has apologized. I hope the 90% of America that disagrees with their position never turns their dials to nbc again.

The Republican party would be wise to disengage themselves from the religious fanatics. I tell my fellow Young Republicans that constantly. Some of them listen, the others have religious dogma ingrained so far into their brain it's impossible to get them to disassociate themselves from the intolerance, hatred and hypocrisy of the zealots.

Religious fanaticism has no place in America anymore, and it never should have been accommodated in the first place.

My daddy, grand daddies, and sister-in-law's brother, all served or is serving. So take your mouth-breathing "anti-American" rhetoric and shove it up your cup of Christ.

They're coming around to the notion that the idea of a good, loving God, while noble, has been stolen, abused and politicized by the zealots of this nation. The fanatics have plastered His name on objects, like currency and the Flag, whenever they feel the urge to resolve a "cultural crisis," so they can idolize Him just like they do other objects for political gain. They've used God for violence, hate and oppression of liberties.

Thank GOD the Founding Fathers preemptively chose not to follow the oppressive crown and commingle religion and government.

OMG! This is proof that NBC is left leaning!!!!

Oh wait that's not news to anyone. It might have been more surprising if they had not edited the pledge.

Wow, the replies on here are sad.

oilfield - what specifically is sad? was it sad that the pledge didn't include those words just 60 years ago? seems like most of the problems we have as a country have built up since we put the words in there, no??? of course i am just saying that in jest, but i just don't understand why you think it's sad, or why the other poster thinks the replies here are scary. i think you both just like drumming up negative feelings so you have someone to hate and point at to blame all our problems on.

Whichever way is decided to be the "official" Pledge, with the phrase Under God or without, it is fine with me.
For now the offcial pledge has the phrase Under God.
