SynTex, it bears repeating, that was simply epic.
Please, that letter from the DMN--talk about whining. I guess they weren't watching the part of the BCS selection show where Mack Brown was still openly criticizing the BCS system-- even though his team benefited from it--and said that Cal deserved to be there too. Selective memory is the survival tactic of the bitter.
Aside from adding to the endles "A'da Boy's" for syntex, I wanted to see if there have been any other replies for those of you emailing the link and info. to various media outlets. Please post them. I'm hoping this will get some attention outside the state of Texas.
NatChamps2003 or whomever else is interested in doing this:
Starting a website debunking the theory is a good idea. I think texasfansfortruth.com is the best name. Go with it, the sooner this is up and running the better.
If we had a plus one system it most certainly would only be conference champions. Neither Cal nor Texas would have made it in. Michgan or Va. Tech would have filled the last spot.
Couldn't help chiming in -- AWSUM job SynTex. As has been said before about Cal: You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found lacking.
Add my "Aye" to those voting for "Classics" board.
I have a question for you, Syntex. Some newspaper outlets have reported that Tedford voted Cal 4 and Texas 5. If that is true (and we have no way of knowing if it is), and if every coach in the country filled out their ballot just like Tedford's, would Texas still have jumped them in the final BCS standings?
On a side note here, this sports "story," (Cal was cheated) is a nice example of how there are very few free-thinkers in the national sports media. It's amazing how not one single source took the initiative after Saturday's games and said that Texas had a great shot to pass Cal on a lot of ballots after OU romped, USC just squeaked by UCLA (who sucks), and Cal was in a 1-point game with the 4th-best team in Conference USA with 6 minutes to go in the game. It was as though those games didn't happen and shouldn't have been considered in the voting.
And as someone else pointed out, isn't it odd how when Texas was on the outside looking in, all the pundits agreed that "Texas knows the rules-- if they want in the BCS they should beat OU." Yet when Cal gets nudged out of the picture, not one single person gives them the same treatment. Instead, the same talking heads spin it as though Cal has been dealt a huge injustice.
I'm just glad that I've heard less today about this on national sports news than I have since the announcement - I really wish we could settle this on the field and play Cal straight up... maybe we can schedule a home and home against them
