Official: Harbaugh Suspended

That punishment of JH is what I picked in the poll and is what is appropriate for his actions. I'm unsure what punishment the UM program may or may not get.

When does vacating wins come? I didn't and still don't care if he is suspended. If UM won football games because of cheating they should be required to give up every win in games proven to be impacted by this.

Shouldn't they suspend the OC and DC who also had to have known. Isn't that who Stallions would be conveying the information to on the sidelines. Completely decapitate the snake.

This has to come from NCAA. There is no timeline for such a thing. They can vacate wins in a program 100 years after the fact if needed.

My understanding is that he's not suspended as a coach per se, he just can't be on the sidelines during games, he can still coach the team throughout the week at regular practices. I didn't see anything that said he couldn't be in the stadium like up in the box for example during actual. games .

ElSapo
It states in link I provided
"For clarity, the Head Football Coach shall not be present at the game venue on the dates of the games to which this disciplinary action applies."

So the spread was 4.5 this morning and now it’s 4.
So Vegas thinks having Harbaugh on the sidelines is only worth half a point?

(Or perhaps they knew the suspension was coming and already factored it in)

The moral to this story is to have the NCAA be your accuser, judge & jury. They are toothless & gutless. It would have taken them 3 years and resulted in Harbaugh missing the first half of the game against Idaho Tech.

I hope Michigan (whom I hate) scores 60 on State Penn (whom I hate more).

Meh. I trust the NCAA to do the right thing only slightly more than I trust the federal gov't to.
Over the years, I have grown to take the attitude that, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” However, in this situation, I tend to believe that significant action will be forthcoming, and soon. It may not come from the NCAA. It should come from the school itself, but I don’t have high hopes… and that is not a favorable commentary on that university.

Frankly though, in the short term, considerably more impact could come from the CFP committee. It’s hard for me to imagine that they would allow a team accused of a major cheating scandal to participate in the playoffs, and possibly win them. Talk about a tainted champion, and a compromised system.

neither Barry nor Larry were punished.

So, now we know that Barry and Larry cheated and were later hired by Jerry. I was at that game in '76 and could not figure out how OU could predict what Texas was going to do.

Some years later, SMU gets the Death Penalty and OU, and others, skate.

uta,

SMU was far worse, but crossed the line when they were the first to buy a new house for a recruits mother after they got her a new job. The kid never wanted to go to SMU and didn't last a year there. Great kid. We put Meyer & Collins on notice that if "mom" lost her job or home or didn't get annual raises, "say hello to the front page of DMN, Washington Post, NY Times, and say goodbye to any black athletes in the future". So mom got a free house, better job, bigger paycheck, and SMU got zilch.

If you're gonna cheat, cover your *** and your bases. Bunch of amateurs
