The original Taco Bell sign is a man (Mexican) sleeping under a sombrero. Kinda plays into the "lazy Mexican" thing.

I personally don't have a problem with it but I think that's the reason Pepsi Foods lost that part of the logo when it did the redesign.

You can really see it in this blown up Taco Bell ad from the 70s:

I knew that the NEZ upper deck was not going to connect with the West side upper deck, but I really thought there would be some kind of visual transition between the two and not just an empty gap. On the positive side though, I would expect there will be quite a breeze blowing through the gap, so that is probably a good thing for all of us in the West side lower deck.

Actually...

When the old N. EZ was slated for demolition- The plaques commemorating the war vets (hence the 'memorial' in DKR-RMS) ,affixed along the top, where de-commissioned and removed.

These plaques will be re-commissioned and re-installed somewhere in the new construction.

...don't recall, but they are to be installed inside somewhere within the bowels of the new stuff, or maybe up there in the NW gap?

I dunno.
