Now official - Sark is new coach

I'm a lot more concerned about his defensive hires than what he can put together on offense. With guys like Robinson and Whittington coming back, the sky's the limit for creativity and spreading the ball around like Bama does.

Defensive YPG:
2020 - #63
2019 - #97
2018 - #67
2017 - #41
2016 - #94
2015 - #106
2014 - #25

We haven't even been "above average" on D in 6 years. And that was Chuck's first season... a guy with a defensive mindset coming in and playing a bunch of new guys in a new system. My concern is that Sark will leave that up to his defensive staff and he's going to need a hell of a group to turn around what has been pretty miserable (and the main cause of our TCU/OU losses these past few seasons).

I love how the D has gotten fired up for the bowls these past couple seasons, but Colorado and Utah were Pac 12 garbage, and OU is not.

I thought Sam already decided but this from Sark:

Steve Sarkisian on Sam Ehlinger: "Definitely, there’s a phone call coming. He’s got a personal decision to make. I’ll try to guide him as best I can.” #HookEm

Rumors are that qb Bryce Young is coming with Sark. With Thompson's break out game and Card and Young someone is going to get squeezed. I don't believe Sam is an accurate enough passer in a Sark offense. Maybe Sam can move to TE.

I would like to see Sam back for culture alone. Sark needs to lay the law down day one and needs 100% support from CDC and Administration. Someone let the drum major know too. Woke won’t work.

F the drum major....that ugly person needs to just go find her spot elsewhere....and all the other band members with "issues".....along with the DIRECTOR and lady running the Butler School of music....
THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS IS NOT YOUR PLATFORM.....
....if you are so compelled, LEAVE and make your life making your point....
...there will ALWAYS be issues and gripes (especially for the hood-winked and dim-witted) and you DO NOT use UT Austin to speak from....

I’m sick about hearing which Coach from the Saban tree will be the first to beat him, Fisher, Smart, Pruitt, Kiffin... mark it down now, Sark will beat his a$$ in 2022.

If Sam comes back he doesn't get the guarantee of being starter anymore. If he earns it, fine but I can't see how he would.

No: A player who offers himself in the draft is done with NCAA eligibility. Casey Thompson looks like he deserves lots of playing time. If Sam comes back, maybe there could be a package of plays for him as QB. What I liked about Casey was his elusiveness and his accuracy. He made some plays in the Alamo Bowl that I'm not confident Sam could have made.

I think if Sam wants an NFL career, he should bulk up and be a fullback. He has NFL potential there if he remains a good athlete at 240 pounds or so. He's short for a Tight End... I think the average in the NFL is 6-5 to 6-6.

Yup. FB or LB.

Young is in line to be the starting QB at Bama next year. Why would he transfer?
