Another way to discern local races is to drive around and look at yard signs. See who is grouped together.That's basically why I didn't make the call. I can't tell who's good or bad, so I deemed myself unqualified to vote in those races.
I also voted for Round Rock ISD. That's easier, because the bad apples almost always signal their badness with buzzwords on their websites.

And has a statement like this
You vote for his opponent.
This year, I consistently see "Tanya for Congress" signs all over the place, but her signs are inevitably in the same yards that proudly display Harris/Walz and Collin Allred signs too. That isn't coincidental, and it is reason enough to vote against her. Same with a certain school board candidate and a county commissioner's race.
The "guilt by association" tool can be very useful. I have felt the urge to thank the local activist types with all the yard signs for making it so easy to learn who NOT to vote for.
