Wearing a hoodie in late February in Sanford Florida where the average temperature is in the mid 60's and probably humid, that gets a call from me if I see someone like that in my neighborhood.

Act like a thug get treated like a thug, I don't care what color you are, you act like a fool walking down the sidewalk or street or you look suspicious either the police, if I don't know the kid, or his parents if I do know the kid, are going to be called.

If I am real suspicious, a person wearing a hoodie in warm temperature is walking down my street, hell yea I am calling 911 and keeping an eye on this person.

Hell, when I was running at 4:00am one morning, A cop pulled alongside me on the jogging trail and asked me where I lived. I happened to be wearing dark sweats and a dark shirt, looking back on it, I bet I looked suspicious.

Well, from the training and information I've seen Neighborhood Watch folks do not pursue and confront. They observe and report. I've never heard anyone ever in an offical capacity suggested they arm themselves and get outsde their vehicles to confront a suspiscious person. I know that my personal knowledge of armed citizens confronting bad guys -- gleaned from watching maybe 100 episodes of The Rifleman and Bonanza -- things work out well. Prosecutors and cops with more real world experience seem less enthusiastic about it.

For the record, Zimmerman was a watch captian only in his demented mind since nobody appointed him to anything,
Which makes it all the more tragic that some blood thirsty fool could pursue an unarmed kid who posed no threat to him and put a bullet through his chest.

I have to keep those of you engaging in deflection and obfuscation honest. Let's not get it twisted.

Satchel, young black men are murdered much too often and much too young every day. What is different about this situation that has everyone so engaged in the problem that is otherwise mostly ignored?

So is this an issue of an innocent boy being killed or is it a race baiting opportunity?

Ok, a guy follows you in a slow moving vehicle clearly following and keeping his eyes on you, then gets out of his vehicle with a pistol intent on following you further ...

A reasonable person would be fearful and be in what nature studies call a "fight or flight" state of mind with adrenalin rushing with likely an emotional state that involves both fear and anger. Zimmerman also was likely feeling an adrenalin rush. His words sounded angry and confrontational before he exited his vehicle.

This is why the dispatcher warned Zimmerman "You don't need to do that."

A reasonable law enforcement officer would say keep your butt in the vehicle. Professionals, with tools and experience to handle confrontations need to be there. Whatever "minding his own business" state of mind Zimmerman claims to have reached by the time a fight started, he was way outside the guidelines of "neighborhood watch volunteer" when he armed himself with a deadly weapon and stepped out of his vehicle. I guess in the "he said, he's dead" aftermath we have to take Zimmerman's word for it that he was meek and polite at the time the fight started unless eyewitness accounts or physical evidence say otherwise.

Thank God for the "race hustlers", for without them, Trayvon would be just another expendable, murdered black teen and Zimmerman would be surveiling his next "fuckin' coon."

I agree.

Maybe you should read some things that some rational African American leaders have written, including the past President of the NAACP who penned Jackson and Sharpton as Race Hustlers.

This tragedy has zero to with race.

Clearly the reaction has gone over the top. But the case is worthy of serious and intense attention, which it was not receiving a month ago.

major, there's a problem with your assertion because you called the little hanky head preacher from Garland "the past president of NAACP", which he is not. He is the past president of the Garland Chapter of the NAACP which has 32 members.
There's a big difference.

The incident occurred on Feb. 26th and it didn't make news until perhaps March 14, so who knows if it would have gotten attention without national figures getting involved.

I stand corrected, the original that I read said he was a past president. I didn't know it was just the Garland chapter, anyway to your point earlier, he was the one that termed "Race Hustler".

How do you kinow he is swanky, you hang out with him? Why do you have a problem with him?
