As a more complete picture on the background of Trayvon Martin emerges, I can't help but question what forces behind the scenes were responsible for the picture presented to the public. The usual suspects led by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson demanded the arrest of a man portrayed as a vigilante stalking an innocent 140 lb kid munching on skittles. Now we see Trayvon mania. The Miami heat dons hoodies to honor his memory. A mob of Miami high school students ransack a Walgreen's store, and the New Black Panther Party offers a $10,000 reward for the capture of the man who shot him.
The first hint that this was most likely a witch hunt was the involvement of Al Sharpton. This event completes the trifecta of Tiwana Brawley, the Duke Lacrosse rape accusations, and now the murder of a sweet young boy. Whether or not George Zimmerman was in the right, the record shows the kid was a thief, thug, and general loser with a propensity to find trouble. And the doctors of exploitation - Sharpton and Jackson - have taken the opportunity to stir up racial division for personal gain.
Look, its a shame the kid is dead. The choices he had been making doesn't make this fact unexpected. In 1987, the great college basketball player Len Bias, suddenly died as a result of ingesting cocaine. Some claimed it was the first time Bias had tried the drug. We'll never know. Choices have consequences. At the time Bobby Knight summed it up
