No Walking Dead thread yet...?

Andrea is super annoying!! Herschal has something weird going on. I too had a feeling when Rick said he wanted to deal with the walkers in his own way.

Ohhh I SO want to spoil things for you, but I won't. I've read the entire comic series to date. Yeah, Herschel is F'ing nuts.

ahhh!

You won't. the series is only following the comic as a rough outline. a few characters are not in the comic and some were killed off early that are still there. The only thing similar to the tv series and the comic regarding hershel is that he kept zombies in his barn. shane was killed off in the comic before they got to the farm. carl was never shot by a stray bullet. the missing child story is new, etc.

That's a very valid point General, and one I have been considering myself. My problem is what happens if they start using the comic plot lines more and more? The prison, the Governor, etc. I'm just afraid that if we do too much discussion it could ruin things for those just watching the series.

Carl shot by stray bullet & missing little girl = meddling of some marketing genius seeking to attract the twilight/true blood demographic to an icky zombie program. It's ok though, I'm sure he asked his wife's permission first.

I missed the 1st season.
Worth going back for?

I love zombie movies but you have to suspend some logic which I'd prefer not to. Such as why don't they just eat each other off? I mean, if you're starving, protein is protein. And why eat in the first place if you don't have functional guts to process it and blood to pass the nutrients around? But I get it, you just have to go with it like vampires or lord of the rings type fantasy.

I think it would be just as good if they were de facto zombies; that is, not dead just real ****** up and feral. And it would lend more credence to Herschel's view making more sense. Heck, you could even add in some religious whack job stuff about them being possessed by the devil with no proof one way or another to be purposely ambiguous.

Yeah, I just 'netflixed' the first season blu-rays. Definitely worth it. After seeing this season, the first few episodes of season one are out of control.

The first season of WD is like a roller coaster that immediately takes you up to the largest hill and throws you down a 90 degree downslope at 80mph. They started hard and fast.

It slowed a bit this season, so hopefully it will pick up.

If I watched more than one season one episode at a time, I would have zombie dreams. Now, now so much.

This season has been more of a slow burn, with a pretty good bang at the fall finale.
I know some people have complained, but if you don't develop the characters, the show won't last on zombie killn' alone.

I liked Sunday's episode as well. Even though Rick has always been very "PC" in attitude, I felt like he was going to kill those people right away. They seemed shady, even for a post-apocalyptic world.

This episode is dripping with sociology in the best Romero tradition.
Shane is the republican reactionary me me me and Rick is the bleading heart liberal.

Also in the bar scene where Rick goes Josey Wales under the confederate flag, is it just coincidence that the scumbags were from philly? I think not.
