No Walking Dead thread yet...?

I watch both Walking Dead and Homeland, though, with Homeland, I'm only 2 episodes in,

I love Walking Dead except for one thing. I absolutely cannot handle children in pain, dying, etc... This is akin to many of y'all being unable to handle scenes with dogs dying. It's just a weakness of mine. I know it's fiction but I just almost had to turn my head during the kids surgery.

Interesting tactic on hiding under cars as a way to escape from zombies. One thing I don't quite understand though is, in a previous episode, they cover themselves in zombie guts to walk amongst the walkers, until a rain storm washes it off and the walkers are able to smell them. Why can't the zombies smell them under the car?

I wondered that too about the car hiding place.

I haven't read any of the comics, but apparently there are supposed to be several dead main characters by now?

My boyfriend and I also hate how some of the characters like to scream or yell, even though they KNOW that will attract walkers! I would have to leave those people behind!

Nothing has REALLY happened in the last two episodes to move the whole 'what happened' story arc forward. Its like they are buying time because they have to make the show last more than just 2 seasons now. Same thing happened with lost.

Still one of the best shows out there. Just seems like we're gonna spend the whole darn season looking for the girl now and waiting for the boy to recover.

My wife and I just got caught up watching season 1 and the first 2 episodes of season 2. Love the show! The new season does seem to have started off at a slower pace but as pointed out, they got picked up for a third season so they have more time to stretch out the plot lines.

I like the flashbacks. Would like to see some on the other characters.

We need a Star Trek move, find some random individuals dressed in red and kill them off every show. I can't get enough zombies, in fact I might watch zombieland again or shaun of the dead tonight!

Epic show tonight. When the **** hits the fan, you do what you gotta do to survive I guess. I certainly wouldn't have done that to a guy trying to save a kids life but, damn.

And what the hell is up with this house. They shoot guns around it, leave their lights on AT NIGHT with the windows open, and don't seem to have any protection whatsoever. And they haven't had one problem with zombos....

Crazy episode! Shane has descended into a criminal psychosis. Shane's emerging sinister personality should be an a compelling storyline.

OMG!!! Even though Shane lied about Rick, I still thought maybe deep down inside he was a good guy. It wasn't a far stretch to assume Rick had died in the hospital.

I guess you do what you have to. Good episode!

Shane is really out there. I guess he get's a pass for lying about his good bud Rick being dead. Since then, he and Lori have barely kept their secret from bubbling to the top and its a deception that threatens Rick's family and the surving group. Even with Rick around, Shane feels that Lori is his, evidenced by the fact that he tried to force himself on her.

Last week, he revealed he wanted to slip away from the group and strike out alone, a pretty freakin' crazy idea if you think about it. But maiming Otis and leaving him to certain death was nothing short of cold-blooded. The closing shot of Shane staring in the mirror as he shaves his head and recounts his deed. . .creepy.

i think he did it to save himself. he wasnt going to make it unless he did that. i had a feeling that was going to happen all along.

The author was asked about the hiding under the car scene. He said "they can tell between the living and other zombies but they are not bloodhounds. So hiding underneath a car works."

I jokingly said to myself they need to use the buddy system. 2 seconds later Shane says "Sorry".

Way to go Glenn

Put me in the same camp with the original poster's boyfriend -- the show, while still entertaining, is devoting far too much energy into well-trodden, mundane, soap-opera territory. For crying out loud, half the episodes so far have only had a single zombie putting in an appearance!

For the love of god, wrap up the "little girl lost" storyline already. Before this season she was a peripheral character with maybe 2 lines of dialogue and now, hey, let's drop everything and devote all our efforts to asking the audience to worry about her? Cheap emotional appeals like that are not good writing in my book. As if that weren't enough, then the little boy gets shot too? Groan. I can't be the only viewer who is beginning to find all the hand wringing and general weepiness more than a little tedious? How about some meager tidbit to advance the main plot?

The cynic in me suspects a concerted and condescending attempt to "broaden the demographic."

I know they are setting the plot line for this season and beyond but lets get to the zombie killin. Less love makin, pregnancy testin and more zombie killin.

Props to Glenn! He knows how to go into holes to get the job done.

I know it's "hip" to bash this show, its plot lines and shoddy writing so I try to refrain from doing so. But, that scene with the well was brutal.

Hey. Don't drink the water. Oh look, a zombie. Let's get it out so we can drink the water - though there are 4 other wells. I've got an idea, let's tie a human up and drop him into the well using a thin rope. Pull him up. He's stuck? Yank harder.

Geez...

Also, and not to get even more picky or technical but... On a farm with livestock, is it that far out of the realm of possibility that someone would not be able to drop a lasso into the well and grab the zombie in that manner? In other words, make a wide loop and feed it to the bottom. Hell, if cowboys can rope runaway animals while going full-tilt on a horse, seems as if this really wouldn't be that hard to do.

After tonights episode, I am predicting they take out the old man Herschel, with the ironic twist that it will be the asian kid doing the dirty deed and not Shane. This would of course free up Herschel's daughter to romp in the hay freely. The old man is hoarding walkers in his barn? Is this some sort of experiment a la 28 Days Later with the chained up walker?

Kind of makes you wonder about when Daryl came walking out of the woods and Rick said Hershel likes to deal with walkers in his own way. I can see Hershel keeping them in the barn waiting for a cure. think back to the conversation he had with Rick on the front porch that the Human race basically always wins.

Back to Daryl, Andrea needs to go back to laundry!!

If Daryl was the only living person on this show it would always be awesome. Glenn could live too.

Andrea is terrible. She can't get eaten soon enough
