NO more migrants

Husker?
Why do YOU think the only way to offer aid is to bring them here?
Why you are so sure muslim women and children can not be terrorists?

I would ask which of MY suggestions you think are unreasonable?
I did not offer any personal suggestions but did offer what others have offered; 1.halting all refugees until we know our vetting process is safe OR at the least halting all refugees from that area. 2.creating safe areas over there and I did mention the Egyptian billionaire's offer to buy an island.

The problem is that I haven't heard any details - just vague pie-in-the sky alternatives that no one seems to be backing up with specifics. Who is this billionaire, and how big of an island are we talking about? How will food and water get to this island?

And personally, I don't think the vetting process can be made safe.

Just read today's headlines, 2 more attacks in France. Muslims killing people in Bosnia, Jews killed apparently by muslims in Tel Aviv large cache of weapons and explosives found in Belguim
and here is USA?? the now 6 Syrians with fake passports caught in Honduras. 8 Syrians caught in Laredo, muslims caught on ohio turnpike, suspicious men being sought in Pentagon.
The beard men in Pentagon could turn out to be nothing more than a muslin parade. The men trying to sneak in with fake passports after another matter.

Like I said, they are on the warpath.

How close are you to Hannover?
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/germany-terror-alert-ambulance-packed-6849876

French Intel alerted German police about this. is this a one off? or do you think there will be other attempts/attacks in Germany?
with the million or so Germany has let you it is reasonable to think there are bad guys among them. But they don't seem to have hate for Germany so maybe they will just use Germany as a staging/ planning ground.

I'm about 4 1/2 hours from Hanover (about the same distance from Paris), but obviously this was big news. Apparently Merkel was at the soccer match, which likely lead to the plot, much like Hollande was at the stadium that was attacked in Paris.

Surely Germany has let in some bad guys (just looking at the odds), and there will be more attacks or attempted attacks. Personally, I'm staying away from the big cities as much as possible and avoiding getting on trains. It sucks. Christmas markets in the big cities are awesome (photo from Wiesbaden's market attached below) - very festive atmosphere, cool stuff to buy, glühwein, special winter beer, great food, etc. In fact, I like to collect the special glühwein mugs from each market (photo below). Deez, Jr. was too young to really enjoy them last year, but he'd really like them this year. Not to sound like a candyass, but I'm not going to take any chances with the family this year. Those markets would be a very attractive terrorist target - not very secure, very crowded, etc.

I would think itnis hard to put forth a concrete plan out of thin air. It would take leaders of countries to get together ( didn't you suggest that?) and Novel thought, even the UN.
So yes a suggestion to create safe areas is for now just that, a suggestion. But WHY is it just a suggestion? Why haven't the US And at least the Euro countries started on this. It is time to draw the Arab countries into this too.
It is amazing that none have started on this, instead of letting the surge of people continue

Here is a CNN article on the Egyptian Billionaire'

those are cool pics of Christmas market.

How is what you are describing different than 4 million refugees sitting in refugee camps in Jordan, Turkey, etc.? The problem is that the model is unsustainable. Look no further than the family of 3 Syrian refugees that Indiana governor Mike Pence refused. They've been in a camp for 4 years being vetted, waiting for an opportunity to go somewhere to rebuild their lives. They have family/friends in Indianapolis that could have helped them get started.

Husker do you not want the refugees coning in vetted? Just let them all in?

Seriously? Who is saying we shouldn't vet them? Nobody. Who is saying we should "let them all in"? Nobody. Here is FBI Director James Comey's stance on the legislation that passed the house yesterday:

FBI Director James Comey has expressed deep concerns about the bill, two U.S. officials tell CNN. Comey has told administration and congressional officials that the legislation would make it impossible to allow any refugees into the U.S., and could even affect the ability of travelers from about three dozen countries that are allowed easier travel to the U.S. under the visa waiver program, the officials say.

There are always risks in allowing any foreigners into the U.S., Comey told the officials, adding that the FBI believes it has an effective process with intelligence and other agencies to conduct vetting of refugees.

If you're looking for a guarantee of safety then you've set an impossible standard.

Guarantee of safety ? How about COMMON SENSE?
There is NO way to vet people from Syria and some of the other areas now.
surely you understand that.

You asked me
"When do you anticipate the promotion to FBI Director?"
You mean this guy?
"“We can only query against that which we have collected. And so if someone has never made a ripple in the pond in Syria in a way that would get their identity or their interest reflected in our database, we can query our database until the cows come home, but there will be nothing show up because we have no record of them,” Director Comey replied.

Director Comey seems like he sees the problem pretty well. And now that we have learned that ISIS is selling Syrian passports I would guess the Director is even more concerned.

So, you are expecting perfect then rather than real answers to difficult questions. He still has stated that he's comfortable with our vetting process.

Did you read what he said.He can only rely on what is in our database
Please say you are not so blinded by partisanship that you can not understand what the FBI Director is saying..
He is not saying he has any confidence in info provided by the UN.
Where do You Husker think we can get good info on Syrians?

What do we lose letting them settle in other countries in the Middle East? I say we lose a lot of risk that we don't need that they can handle over there where they currently live. We are taking in more immigrants already than anyone else if you count the past 35 years, or the past 20 years, or even the last 10 years. Let someone else take the migrants from the Middle East.

I agree.
let other countries, muslim countries with cultures similar to those poor Syrians take them in.
Who knows maybe some of the able bodied men might even be willing to go back and fight for their country. Then they could relocate the other "refugees" back to their home. Same for Afghanis and Iraqis.

ON a related note the Syrian "refugee" BO sent to Baton rouge left, was supposedly on his way to DC but SHOCK! he never checked in
and now DHS says it does not know where he is and WON'T track him because it violates his constitutional rights or something.
"
Earlier in the week, the Hayride reported on a “missing” Syrian refugee that had apparently left the Baton Rouge area. Then, the Louisiana State Police confirmed that the refugee was headed to Washington DC to resettle with family in the country’s capitol.

Once in Washington DC, the refugee was apparently supposed to “check in” with authorities there, according to state officials.

However, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), who has been on top of the issue ever since, said he spoke with the Department of Homeland Security today and they confirmed to him that they do not, in fact, know where the refugee is.

Homeland Security say they have no information on where the Syrian refugee is. Also, they said the refugee could not be “kept up with” because of his constitutional rights, according to a spokesman for Vitter.

Vitter, who has been an adamant opponent of bringing Syrian refugees into the country and specifically the state, said this specific case comes down to political correctness."

So far no one from DHS has contradicted the statement nor reported they now where this guy is .Can anyone< Husker?> give any reason the Feds would NOT track this "refugee"?

Pretty much high income, liberal Democrats who are the only demographic group that wants US to accept more Muslim Syrian refugees. Click it once to enlarge for easier perusal

Wow Joe Fan, just listened to your 'lecture' posted Nov 20. She's more straight forward than that Phyllis gal ( I think that's her name cannot remember her last name).

I know leftists have an explanation on the difference between the Syrians Texas wants to keep out and the Iranians Jimmy DID keep out.

Yes, I know this is from PNN (Putin News Network), but it has direct quotes. And I've heard it in other places as well. What's the answer to this very foreseeable problem? How's the so-called vetting process dealing with this?

Again, we need common sense on this issue, and instead our attention gets diverted to Trump's idiotic religious test and the Left's moronic, self-righteous hysterics in response. Are there any adults in the room? Even one?

I love our country, but I really hate our political class. It is an utter disgrace.
