NFL Playoffs

So NE is going to yet another SB. Imagine that? I’d like to see the Rams win but considering that they shouldn’t even be in the game, I doubt they can play with the Patriots.

Stuff like this shouldn’t be happening in the playoffs. Start suspending and administer fines against those refs and force them to get this stuff right. Completely unacceptable.

It is just so exceedingly stupid that we have multiple camera angles on an outrageous game-changing foul like that, everyone in the world can see it, but it can’t be called because... why? a no-review rule? Change the rule then.

I don’t care who won this game but everybody knows that the Saints got brutally screwed here and it's just like, oh well, nothing to be done about that, so sorry.

DPI gives NO a 1st down with 90+ seconds left. Run the clock down and kick the ******* game-winning FG.

And like a 21-yard game-winning FG at that. Probably goes in 199 times out of 200.

He didn’t touch that ball but I want the Chiefs to win so he probably touched it

It was not conclusive and they should have gone with the call on the field, whatever it happened to be. The ball didn't appear to be affected, but his thumb went from stationary to wobbling back and forth the instant the ball went past it. Doesn't prove anything, but it's enough that one cannot definitely say his thumb was not touched. Therefore "call stands".

Side note 1: the "can't advance a muff" rule is stupid.

Side note 2: Edelman was a lot closer to touching the football than Chris Jesse was in the 2007 Holiday Bowl, where were these refs then?

At least the Edelman touch/no-touch issue was rendered moot when Brady threw a pick a couple plays later. But the completely bogus roughing the passer on New England was a game-changer, as was the blatant missed offensive pass interference on KC for their final TD. The NE one was worse because that was 3rd down and it changed the drive, whereas KC would have still had a chance. But both were awful.

Lined up in the neutral zone may cost the Chiefs the game. Interception taken away.

Yep. The game was over if he lines up right. And he was looking straight at the ball, too. BTW, that means Brady threw 2 picks, had 2 others dropped by KC defenders, and had 1 taken away by an unforced error that had nothing to do with his throw.

Soooo, similar to UT/OU Big12 refereeing fiasco, consider the fact that the NFL is easily billions of dollars industry and you have a choice whether to get the Rams from big market Los Angeles another shot at tying/winning the game or let Saints from small market New Orleans put the game away, it's a no-brainer. Similarly, you have the New York Yankees of football trying to make it 9 out of 18 years (5 of last 8?) and there's a roughing the passer call just to see if Brady & co can tie it up. When there's $ on the line, don't ever think that everyone judging/reffing a contest is unbiased (or has unbiased bosses)....you know that half the people watch for the Patriots to win and the other half yearning for those jerks to lose.....butts in the seats/eyes on the tube.....

When I first looked at Texas, I was like "What evil is this?"

If that’s supposed to be funny, it is more sick than funny. All I need to know was at the top where Minnesota is “tacos”. Would anyone on this board eat a taco while visiting Minnesota? Those people probably think Taco Bell is gourmet food.

Louisiana is cake? Gumbo, ettoufe, Boursin

I have a lot of relatives in The Dust Bowl, and have never seen chicken noodle soup on any table.

Must have been some nasty **** the Google people were smoking when they came up with that list.

In the early 90s I took a solo trip to Germany & Switzerland and it was my last day before flying home. I was pretty much out of cash by then but I had an Amex card so I was walking around Heidelberg looking for a restaurant that accepted Amex. I found — no kidding — a Mexican restaurant and thought, you know, how bad could it be. I forget what entree I ordered but the side of Spanish rice was pilaf with some kind of salsa poured on top. Lesson learned.

In the mid-90's the best Mexican food outside of North America was at the Texas Embassy Cantina in London. Before that place opened, the best place was a hole in the wall in Hong Kong called Willie's Place. Unfortunately both are now just footnotes in history.

**** the super bowl. I’m never watching another game Tom Brady plays in.

Stay tuned! You might get your wish. Some rumours have been floating around this season that if the Pats won the SB, Brady may call it a career. Nothing official so far though.
