To be fair, professors have been fired at prestigious universities for having a consensual relationship with a woman researcher in another department and been accused of “sexual harassment” by a 3rd party, such as an aggrieved grad student. In the case I am thinking off, the investigation was a sham. Again, the contract the new coach signs is worthless.I hate this thread but, I don't think Beard was treated any differently then any other man in a similar situation. Wife/girlfriend calls police. Police arrest man, man goes to jail. No one ever knows what happened. If woman "presses charges" justice is done. If woman recants, further proof she is part of the cycle of domestic abuse. Not taking sides just saying my experience is that when it comes to domestic violence there seems to be a presumption that the man was the aggressor.
Not sure why UT is involved but if he was involved in a fight for running room it is at the very least poor judgment on his part. If this was a regular occurrence with the next Mrs. Right, then it is very poor judgment. This ending could be unfair but in today's world it was very predictable.
I think recruiting violations but my memory is not so good anymore.Has he slapped anyone around?

No thank you.Meanwhile, in the moving on category:
Report: Texas in contact with Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari
No. He had the wise guys bury them out in an abandoned field somewheres.Doesn’t he have skeletons in his closet too?
Now thats funny!!! You win!No. He had the wise guys bury them out in an abandoned field somewheres.
This guy made my argument in less words.Calipari Kentucky team just lost to South Carolina at home. They were a 20 point favorite. His team which was preseason top 5 is now 10-6 and 1-3 in conference. Doesn't sound the kind of up and coming great coach I want at Texas. Hiring him would be similar to A&M bringing in Jimbo in my opinion.

Penders?Hmmmmmmmm. I can think of a squeaky clean coach whose team already has 13 wins (same as us), and is in the Top 25–but with a lot less talent and resources at his disposal. And he’s as clean as they come.
Not mentioning any names…
And he is right where he needs to be (which is not here).Hmmmmmmmm. I can think of a squeaky clean coach whose team already has 13 wins (same as us), and is in the Top 25–but with a lot less talent and resources at his disposal. And he’s as clean as they come.

What's Sydmill Harris up to these days?Royal with cheese Ivey?

Basically, in basketball, we depart with good coach, after good coach, after good coach, after good coach, all the way back to Bob Weltlich who was not a good coach. We need more continuity around here.
Same with Barnes. We were always relevant. If we had stuck with him, on occasional years we'd have made it to the Final Four. Maybe we would have won it all at some point.Would a man such as Louie Carnesseca have lasted around here? He never won a national championship but kept St. Johns in the conversation for decades. He also got knocked out of the NCAA tournament many times in either the 1st or 2nd round. But he became an institution with his sweaters and consistency.
Or maybe not.Same with Barnes. We were always relevant. If we had stuck with him, on occasional years we'd have made it to the Final Four. Maybe we would have won it all at some point.
Put me in the not Calipari list.
There are several younger coaches with a ton of upside I would want before a retread, past his prime, just in it for the money at this point coach.
