New Jersey Governor Chris Christie

Wow he is direct but it seems he has facts to back his directness up with.

One thought about people calling for people in positions of authority to die or get cancer> this seems to have started during Bush and unless someone can post credible links otherwise all I remember is calls for Bush/cheney. rumsfeld et al to die or get cancer and many of these calls were from public figures with access to audiences.
Now we have the head of the teachers union in Bergen county NJ calling for people to pray for the death of a Gov.
That is amazingly vile, does not speak well for the party and I do not understand how that union leader still has a job

Christie responds in the first minute by blaming the past governor and what he inherited when he came into office.

You guys can't get behind a politician that does that, can you?

I do, however, like how he defends himself with numbers and facts that i will just go ahead and assume are true. Unlike Brewer, Perry, et al, he does seem very sharp.

oh, and there are countless examples on both sides of the aisle of Christians praying for the death of certain politicians. I kind of feel like Christians who pray for someone to die haven't really learned what prayer is all about.

just google "prays for the death of". That was just 3 i found quickly on the first page.

although i dont attend regularly, im a member of one of the most conservative episcopal churches in the country. there is prayer every sunday for the sitting president and congress and millitary. 99.9% of all churches do this. there are some self-proclaimed preachers out there that are very political, some of them advise obama, but imo, they are not really christians.

wow...johnny and i share a political opinion! seriously....i only just watched this video and haven't otherwise kept up with the guy, but if that is a sample of who he is, i like him very much!

This guy razor sharp and very impressive. He tells people the unvarnished truth without any BS at all, which is virtually unheard of for a politician in this country, especially in this day and age.

I hope everyone will also notice how he spoke to that situation with impressive knowledge and command of the facts relating to the issues that he was addressing WITHOUT A TELEPROMPTER.

Once again, there is nothing wrong with using a teleprompter, especially for sensitive speeches on matters of state, or other highly sensitive issues. But if someone wants to be regarded as having "once in a generation oratorical skills", then that person certainly needs to be able to speak as well as Governor Chris Christie does without a teleprompter, which Barack Obama definitely does not.

Christie is the bomb and one guy who could handle the typical barrage of left-wing media attacks, I think.

Mojo - We were all getting along and then you had to come back and drag Obama into this. Why? Christie was answering a question and he did so without a prompter. This is the exact same way Obama has treated audience questions.

Back to the topic...YOUR topic...Christie is great. I think he could handle the left and the right wing very, very well.

I'd vote for him. And Yo, to equate Christie's blaming his predecessor to Obama is to miss the point of the person's question and the reason that his predecessor was invoked. I'm not sure how he could have accurately answered the question otherwise.

Sounds like a man who knows how to meet a payroll and live within a budget, unlike 99.5% of the career politicians who infest Washington. I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

RabidLonghorn...could you please expound? in what way is Christy a racist and/or a moron? I am not aware of either descriptors applying to him...

wait...was he being sarcastic? seriously...i don't understand how sarcasm would even fit on this thread when virtually everyone agrees. how would calling him a racist and/or a moron fit in with the tone of the discussion we were having as sarcasm? or did you think i was being sarcastic?

ok...i am just flat out confused....someone please rescue me from this conversation! (the one about Governor Christie!)

ann acurry even appears to like him which is kind of a shocker. not many may realize this but she is in her mid 50's i believe. she looks pretty darn good.
