New AP poll after LSU game

Oh...and since this is an LSU-related thread (sort of), the way too early bowl scenarios have one putting Texas back in the Sugar Bowl...against LSU! I would LOVE for a rematch to occur...

What COULD have stuck in the minds of SOME voters is that, while Texas played LSU close and within a score, LSU clearly lacks a defense as evidenced by the 30+ points racked up by Vandy.

Let that sink in for a moment...VANDERBILT scored 38 against them. The same number we put up. While Texas would (should) mudhole a team like Vandy, too many voters just look at the numbers.
I commented earlier in the "Aggy" thread to that effect that while aggy ran out of time, Bammer put up 70+ and LSU put up 60+ while giving up 38. I also noted "pollsters" are morons.

Not surprised we didn't jump ND.
Me either^^. We lost at home in front of a packed house of our fans; and ND lost in a packed house of hostile fans.

What really does surprise me is that atm is still ranked with 2 losses--WTF?!
And I'm surprised that Meatchicken is still ranked after two squeakers over 2nd tier teams and then having their arses handed to them raw and red by Wisconsin--I repeat, WTF?!
:idk:

Poll manipulation to allow MU to climb back up and make the annual beating from an OSU once again a TV draw?

Put me on the large list that does understand how aggy is still ranked. The most impressive thing they have done before Saturday was holding Clemson to 24 points. But after what UNC did to Clemson, aggy moral victory is gone.

The real news is that SMU is ranked ahead of aggy in AP Poll. Didn't see that coming at the beginning of the year.

Is Billy Luici part of the AP? No person in their right mind thins aggy is top 25.

Great to see Shane leading SMU. They could run the table and be part of a great bowl.

Here's the new full list 10/6:

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Georgia (tie)
3. Ohio State (tie)
5. LSU
6. Oklahoma
7. Florida
8. Wisconsin
9. Notre Dame
10. Penn State
11. Texas
12. Auburn
13. Oregon
14. Boise State
15. Utah
16. Michigan
17. Iowa
18. Arizona State
19. Wake Forest
20. Virginia
21. SMU
22. Baylor

23. Memphis
24. Texas A&M
25. Cincinnati

Other receiving votes: Missouri (64), Appalachian State (61), Washington (54), Tulane (25), California (20), Michigan State (17), Arizona (11), UCF (9), USC and Iowa State (5), Pittsburgh (2)

Unsolicited commentary: I could make an argument we should be above ND and maybe Penn St. Also, one Texas school shouldn't be in the top 25 at all. I expect Florida will drop a few games, but it hasn't happened yet so I won't complain about them here. Georgia is still too high. Great to see SMU move up. Shane and his Ponies still have a long road ahead of them (including Memphis), but I'd like to see them stay ranked as long as possible, or better yet--for the rest of the season.
