I didn’t realize Wisky was up there
Herbstreit must have enjoyed the cesspool this weekend
It isn't that he came right out and disparaged Texas.According to those who listened to the game, that is at odds with his commentary.
With the injury situation and the 2 series from 1st and goal coming away with no points, etc., it is legitimate to ask why people see all that improving to win out. Not win most of the games. Win out. That is a big ask most years with a mostly injury free team and good coaching decisions with a defense that doesn't get shredded in the secondary.
All fair points, that's why I'm asking. My big concern is the injury situation on both sides of the ball.Look at the level of competition we just played. Do you see anyone else on our schedule that comes close to this team?
You could point to blOwU and Okie lite and say they have great offenses, but which one has a defense like LSU? Texas basically scored 38 and if not for a dropped pass it was 45 on a vastly superior defense than anything we will see the rest of the season. That bodes very well for what we can do moving forward.
Can we lose one we shouldn't. Of course we can. I will come out and say that there isn't a game left on our schedule we shouldn't be favored in. Including blOwU.

BJ Foster injury is a concern if not available for OSU. Probably will be, though. As long as Ingram is healthy and Roshon continues to perform like he has, then we are going to be fine until we get Daniel Young back. Key is to keep Ingram healthy. Our defense is pretty deep, there isn't a single guy that can't be replaced with someone as good as he is.
The only guys I'm scared if we lose are Cosmi and Duverney. Even if Sam goes down I am confident that Thompson can come in and do a good job.
Once our backs get healthy, we are going to be a scary good team. Mark my words, if we make the playoffs, we are going to be a very tough team to beat, even for Bama and Clemson.
Agree with all except it would probably be Georgia; not LSU. So far the Committee hasn't reached back into divisional standings over the divisional champions for the second team which is a good thing.
Ohio State went to the CFP one year over Big Ten Champ Penn State, who had also beat Ohio State head to head in division play. So I would be careful predicting what the committee would or wouldn't do.a couple of years ago UGA beat Auburn in SECCG. Bama ended up beating UGA in national championship game. The only way SEC gets two in the CFP is if the second team in is bama. It would take a couple of power 5 champions having multiple losses.
Herman said we wouldn't get Foster back until after the bye week. That is after we play OSU....so get concerned.BJ Foster injury is a concern if not available for OSU. Probably will be, though.
Missed that. Damn, thanks.Herman said we wouldn't get Foster back until after the bye week. That is after we play OSU....so get concerned.

We’ll be OK. Foster is a terrific player but like others have said, it’s a deep position. If we can’t beat Okie Light without him that will be an issue. But I think we will.Color me concerned.
And Michigan, I think. Neither have looked very strong but it’s early.Mostly makes sense except for Florida being so high.
Coaches Poll
Not surprised we didn't jump ND.
Well, part of the problem is that I read somewhere else that Texas was still 12 after beating OSU, but that is not correct. We moved up 1 to #11, which I now see above, so I am less bothered now. It would be a great debate for sure to decide if Texas or ND is the better 1 loss team right now.We each have a close loss to a really good team, and theirs was closer and on the road. LSU did look a little better than Georgia, but the ranking is defensible at least.
What COULD have stuck in the minds of SOME voters is that, while Texas played LSU close and within a score, LSU clearly lacks a defense as evidenced by the 30+ points racked up by Vandy. We each have a close loss to a really good team, and theirs was closer and on the road. LSU did look a little better than Georgia, but the ranking is defensible at least.
