guess 'Horns are carrying the Big 12 banner in baseball (for now)--tceh just got beat by SHSU 4-3 and are out--who knows if TCU will finish their regional in time to play in a super

Edit: ok, so misread ESPN scores, DBU not in super regional yet, looks like TCU should knock them out, but giddiness of college baseball still the same.

Sam Houston -> Super Regional
Dallas Baptist -> Super Regional

That Texas is one tough town!

College baseball is getting to be a lot of fun (if the Horns can get back to Omaha regularly),

Davidson eliminates North Carolina
Florida is struggling to not be eliminated by Bethune Cookman --- BETHUNE COOKMAN!!? Isn't that a typewriter repair school???
DBU eliminates Virginia
Sam Houston eliminates Tceh

Coastal Carolina won it all last year.

Fun.

As long as the Horns are in there somewhere.

Well, our other catcher mishandled a pitch, then threw it to the outfield. 2 free bases. 1-0 Dbags.
 
Texas does not look like a team that should be in this game. Flat, errors and can't get a ball out of the infield.
I will say that Dirtbags is a fitting name for these West Coast clowns. One of the players looks into the Texas dugout and does the downhorns each time he gets on base....classless. Fans don't appear much better.

It's the revenge of the nerds/smaller schools in the Sweet 16 so far: Vandy, Cal State Fullerton, Sam Houston State, Davidson, Missouri State and Wake Forest.
 
Horns have players on 2nd and 3rd bases with one out. Next 2 Texas batters strike out looking. Granted the Dbag pitcher threw some good pitches.

Good pitches, but you can't go down looking in those situations. It's the best way to bring a quick end to what has turned out to be a good first season for Pierce.
 
Runners on second and third, one out, down 2-1 in the 6th and very few runners all game. The last two batters take third call strikes.....infuriating. Swing the damn bat!
Turning game off.
 
Dbags going through pitchers crazy fast. Not a fan of this. Now put in their best closer in the 7th with one out. What if Horns tie? Mistake in my opinion.
 
Well, another 1 loss game. 2-1. Dbags acted like they won the super bowl (just short of dogpiling). Their pitching and defense was better than ours these last 2 games.
 
Texas ends year with two one run losses which pretty much defines the season, the one run loss. Change about three of them during the regular season to wins and the Horns are hosting a regional instead of having to travel to California. Tough end of season but this team improved steadily and Pierce has them headed in the right direction. I am encouraged about the future after the last two really bad seasons that led to Pierce coming on.:hookem:

It's 6:25 on Friday, just checked ESPN for regional super scores --- 13th inning, aggy 6, Davidson 6, LBS 3 CSF 0 4th I think.

Now in 14th. Ed.: aggys on 2nd, 3rd, 2 outs, batter at 3-2, called 3rd strike, going to 15th., Ed.: bottom of 15th, aggy bases loaded, no outs, then 2 outs, finally aggy with base hit, aggy at home beats perennial baseball power Davidson, they almost dogpile as they moshpit on batter.

Luwahville beat Kentucky 5-2.

P.S., I hope Coach Pierce instructs individually, as well as the team as a whole: The University of Texas baseball team will dogpile once in any season, after winning the last game played at Omaha that year.

I sincerely hope this instruction isn't required. Players who come to Texas should know better!
