Martin/Zimmerman...the other side of the story

A couple of thoughts:

- in a rush to judgement, people were quick to look at Zimmerman's background/history. Now the "past" is irrelevant?

- why no recent photos of Trayvon in the media?

As the investigation continues, I hope people will not lose sight of the innocent until proven guilty mantra our legal system affords.
 
I'm starting to believe that Zimmerman's story makes more sense than what the media is reporting. The investigators have stated that evidence shows everything Zimmerman has stated matches what they have found.

We can either believe that Zimmerman tracking Martin down and killed him in cold blood or we can believe that Zimmerman was following him, lost contact and was returning when Martin came up from behind, a physical fight broke out, Martin bashed his head on the cement, Zimmerman yelling for help, and gun shot went off and a witness said Martin was on top of him doing exactly what Zimmerman said. The evidence shows injury to Zimmerman's head and now we are hearing that Martin is not the little 12 year old that is plastered all over the media. That he has dealt with drugs and has been physical by punching a bus driver.

This is starting to sound like the Duke Lacrosse case all over again.
 
I agree Nuclear Bear, but......

Why is Martin portrayed as a little kid in every single picture in the media? Why is that when he was really a 6'3 guy with gold teeth whose twitter name had "nigga" in it?

Sadly, Zimmerman thought he was being a hero and he ignored the cops orders, which should result in some kind of punishment.... but if Martin did indeed attack Zimmerman, hes just as guilty. Sadly, hes also dead now.
 
I35 - you missed the part about Nuclear Bear being an eyewitness to what happened. His version cannot be questioned. He was there. He saw it. Now I can't answer as to why he did nothing to stop it when he saw it happening, but there it is.

One can go as far back as the Muslim, Tim McVeigh and fast forward to Shirley Sherrod (not to mention all of the hair trigger verdicts of the right in the intervening period) to understand the right has NO room to accuse anybody of jumping to conclusions.
 
I give an eff. Not about the teeth, or the screen name, but of the photographic image, On one hand you have what almost looks like a mugshot of a thuggish looking Zimmerman juxtaposed next to an angelic looking, clean cut young (14) year old man.

In reality, that is not how Trayvon looked at the time of the incident. What if they showed a picture of a younger, smiling Zimmerman for his image? Would you give a ****, or think the media was "spinning" the perception of him?

I think anyone who doesn't think the media has controlled this photo and information while possibly fueling and igniting a race war, caused bounties to be placed on Zimmerman's head, and caused a "guilty until proven innocent" mentality regarding Zimmerman is being obtuse.

I, and we, have no idea what went down that evening...but lets put apples to apples regarding the facts. After seeing the correct and current photos, I really don't think he looks like a son of Obama's. That is the only thing I know for sure at this point!

I raised a damn good question: Why does every picture the media shows of Martin show him as a little kid, not what he looked like now, which is much less innocent looking.....

I have a bigger bone to pick with the media than with Trayvon. They have sensationalized something, yet again.

Read the rest of my post before you tear into me because you miss the point.

Nuclear Bear you lose any semblance of credibility when you post such vitriol on any message board and you can't be reasonable enough to concede a simple point.

The sweet young man in all the press pictures is nothing like the older image and there are things no one knows about this event. Do you really think if Obama had seen the current pictures/information about Trayvon he would have said he "looked like my son if I had one"?

This new, updated data doesn't mean anyone knows anymore what really happened. It just means that some have mislead the public in the perception of what really went down that night, and some are making political hay out of a terrible situation.

Do you honestly not care that you are coming across as a stubborn closed-minded idiot? I almost can't believe you aren't doing this just to be a troll and stir up trouble.
