Mack Brown to UNC

Icky Twerp also hosted NIGHTMARE on channel 11 Saturday nights iirc. Icky might have gone by a diff name for Nightmare, but was the same dude nonetheless. Must watch tv for a kid in DFW in the 60s. Can still remember watching slam bang theater during the week, then Nightmare Saturday evenings.
Bill Camfield was the actor. A little before my time, but you can find Nightmare on the web.

Friday nights were Midnight Special, Saturday morning was scooby doo and super friends then some Abbott and Costello movie. Saturday night was SNL. Sunday was playing until 6 pm then it was Wonderful World of Disney. Then I discovered Football. Saturday and Sundays would never be the same again. Except I still watched Midnight Special and SNL.

Pardon the pedantry but can it be called a ‘tradition’ if it’s new? Seems more like a ‘practice’ or something less formal until it’s done a few times.

Are they going to come early, be loud and wear blue also?

Good thing they'll never have to light a #1 in it. Well, they do have basketball.

Well that ram or goat like thing on their logos and t shirts has horns... so hook em tarheels or something. :smokin:

I’ve been told a “Tar Heel” is actually a reference to NC soldiers in the civil war or maybe even the revolutionary war. They would stand fast and hold the line, and they wouldn’t turn and run.

Then again, it could be roofers or highway repair workers who do their work barefooted (ouch!), or barefoot hikers or hunters walking through the pine forest getting sap on their feet?

With Mack Brown, they'll recruit well. Even with a goofy mascot name.
