LSU wants game at Reliant and against AM or UT

I would definitely love to see that happen.

A&M Fans have been wanting to re-open the series with L$U again for years.

Byrne has publically stated that he does not want to give LSU anymore of an "in" in Houston than what they already have.

Giving LSU even more access to recruiting in Texas is a bad idea.

If Texas wants to schedule OOC games against high profile teams, fine. But don't do it with bordering states.

I would not give it to LSU. If it were Georgia or Tennessee I might, but not a school from your neighboring state who is trying to recruit in your territory.

Of course they want a game in the Houston area - they want to tap into recruiting.

Would the match up be exciting? Yes. Is it worth the risk of increased exposure for LSU amongst TX high school recruits? I think that's debatable.

I'd like to see it happen, but I doubt our AD goes for it

I'm not in the UT camp, but I admire ADs (Castiglione at OU, for example) who are willing to schedule high profile games. The Huskers have a home/home with VT this year and next, and have home and homes scheduled with UCLA, Washington and Tennessee down the road.

Texas/Ohio State was THE matchup when it happened. I would look forward to a Texas/LSU matchup should Texas decide to go for it.

I'd love to see us play this game, and I've been telling every ag I can that they need to try to schedule this exact game, on an annual basis if possible.

count me in as not buying the 'not letting them in our recruiting territory'. LSU is pulling recruits because they are good, play in a good league and nothing more.

One game in Houston is not going to set off a lightbulb in a recruit's head and him suddenly realize that 'Wow, I never knew there was a LSU before this game. I might have to give them some consideration'

Home and home - fine, but no more neutral site games, especially with DKR hitting 93,000+ now. Doubt the ags would do it either assuming their planned annual neutral site game with the hogs.

This would be awesome. We need to get this done before Aggy does. Iron sharpens Iron.

Remember what we did the last time we traveled to play a big time non conference opponent. That season turned out okay.

Definitely no more neutral site games. All the renovations aren't being done to DKR so we can drive to Reliant for one of our home games.

Home and home is fine.

Do it. We'll beat them more often than not. The effects of a win outweigh the effects of a loss, and if we're really a top notch program this is a great way to show it. My only question is when? We've got UCLA and Ole Miss for the next 4-6 I think.

I just wish we could do a home and home but it looks like this is a one year deal.

Do it!

Agree. We should do it.
Unless agy wants an yearly beat down, they will act like they want it but they really don't.

honestly, with the obvious exception of the Loux(z)er, when was the last time we lost a prime recruit to LSU??

It really doesnt happen to UT often, and having that game in Houston doesnt hurt Texas- it hurts Aggy. AGGY is who recruits against LSU all the freaking time, those East Texas boys wanting to stay close to home, and deciding on 1 hick school over the other.

We have had 1 super-marquee match-up out of our conference games in the past 5 years and that was tOSU.

I realize that when we scheduled North Carolina they were a top 10 school, but we stole their coach so that possible marquee matchup went to the shitter. And there is no way in hell I will ever admit that Piggie is a big game anymore, those ******* havent been relevant to the SEC (other than an occasional odd year playing spoiler) in years.

UCLA hopefully will be a top 20 matchup thats assuming the Weasel gets those guys turned around quickly, but before the NCAA steps in over sanctions.

But we are Texas, we shouldnt be afraid to play a tough game every other year out of conference.

I don't think it would hurt us much. It could potentially destroy A and M. I don't like it being in Houston only. If they did a 2 year deal with a game in NOLA and a game in Houston, I'd be happier with that. A little give and take.

We already lose a home game every other year because of the Red River Shootout. I don't want to lose another home game.

Let's schedule another home and home with Tulane. Road trip!
