LOST

I somewhat agree with badexcuse, but I think eventually we will get past the Jack/Kate airport scene. It would suck if that's as far as the show goes, because we would've essentially seen the closing scene when the show was barely half finished.

DC - I rewatched the finale from last season last night and noticed Charlie's sign of the cross. Didn't notice it the first time around.

i dont necessarily got anything against this theory but there is too much unknown IMO at this point. for one, the first boat guy says that the rescue is not their main goal so "daniels" if he is from the boat group probably doesnt care too much about the people left behind. second, hurley didnt go with kate or jack so at some point the two groups need to intermingle again in order for these 3 to be a part of the oceanic 6. who knows what causes that to happen but apparently there is a lot more info out there. lastly, if the oceanic 6 were trying to protect the rest of the island people from the boat group, then what else thats bad has happened to them since returning? jack had gotten back to normal life, kate seemed like she moved on, hurley was fine until he saw charlie's (the hobbit) ghost. they all seemed fine until they started obsessing over the people left behind. i dont know, i love the show and it has me completely guessing so any theory is as good as any, but i know that i'll be watching each week!

Do you think they will continue with the flash-forward concept for the whole season?

I think that would be really cool if they did

man i love this show, get the writer's strike over! let these guys get back to writing this great show!

I'm pretty sure they're going to be doing the flash forwards from now on, instead of the flashbacks.

I'm wondering what the hell Locke ends up doing. Obviously something bad if Hurley is still apologizing to Jack for going with him...

Frankly, I think there is going to be a lot more going on. The "others" are still on the island. Ben is still alive and the boat people are now invading. There is going to be another "purge," so to speak and a lot of dying going on. The so-called "secret" for those that left the island is going to be much darker than simply that they left people behind.

The secret can't simply be that there are other survivors still on the island. That wouldn't make any sense because the Oceanic 6 would tell the mainlanders and get rescue crews back out there. No, there has to be something wrong with the people that were left behind. Maybe they are infected with something, or maybe they are somehow being held hostage where they will die if a rescue crew shows up. It seems like one of those things where Jack/Kate/Hurley want to help them but know they can't. I'm not sure how this is gonna play out, but the flash-forward thing is gonna mind **** us for the next 3 seasons. This show is all kinds of badass.

Why would Locke allow Ben to come with hiim after Ben just shot him like very recently and left him in a hole to die?

Locke must have a special connection to the island becuase noone has healed that fast from a gunshot wound

Here is what the guy swimming through the interrogation room flashed at Hurley:

I'm beginning to think that you had a few people leave the island, and others stayed, but the few on the mainland know that the ones that stayed are in mortal danger.

Jack wants to go back because he thinks he's the only one that can save them...Hurley is having crazy thoughts because his conscience is eating away at him, while Kate has killed before, so she's not as sentimental as these two.

It could also explain why Jack is drinking and eventually tries to kill himself.

I could be wrong, but I thought Jack was totally drunk when he went to see Hurley. The shot he threw off the backboard was too horrible for him to be sober.

The patch guy also came back from the "dead" after he ran into the fence. I think that guy might be immortal somehow.

My theory which I'm sure will change is that eventually the 815 survivors are going to find out exactly what is so special about the island and come to the conclusion that not only do they want to stay on the island but have to save and protect it. To do this a group of them will come up with a plan to keep it out of the hands of the boat people that involves them making the sacrifice of leaving the island and drawing the bad people away from it after which they won't be able to find it again. I'll go further to say that Hurley won't be part of this original group of island rescuers but tags along without them realizing it (a la the beach rescue) and only afterwards finds out that he can't get back to the island. That's why Jack felt it necessary to check on him in the mental institution, Hurley didn't make a conscious decision to leave and is therefore the most likely one to crack under pressure. I also think that Oceanic is going to turn out to be more then a simple airline that is the victim of an air disaster. Perhaps Oceanic is a cover for Dharma and have been flying off course deliberately in hopes of finding the island again.

If you go to the flyoceanicair.com web site there's another commercial and spliced into it is a screen shot that says find815.com. That web site will have you work your way through 5 chapters to get more info (I haven't done it yet).
Also, on the oceanic air site you can download a press release. At the bottom of it is the name and phone number of an Oceanic employee, Georgia Cavanaugh 818-460-5520. Call it and you get her voicemail telling you to watch Eli Stone to find out more about winning a golden ticket. This leads me to suspect that we're going to have some sort of "Lost" contest soon.

Sorry for the length, I've been dying to run my theory by some other Lost fans. Thoughts?

led, I'm on the same page. Obviously when I said that they were hiding survivors, I meant they were doing it for a good reason. I think the guy coming to talk to Hurley is really important, it (to me) says that the ship doesn't really care about rescue, it cares about getting "every living thing" off the island/dead, to use Ben's words.

So, have they ever resolved why there was a polar bear on the island?

The writers are definitely using too many drugs...who thinks of these things??

it can be assumed darhma brought them to the island - along with other animals - to test their reactions to the "unique properties" of the island. sawyer and kate were held captive at the other's camp in what appeared to be bear cages.

or possibly walt - who has special powers and at one time made birds crash into a glass door while reading a bird book - "created" the polar bear. in one episode where the polar bear attacks Michael/Walt, walt was shown during the episode reading a comic book with an aggressive polar bear on the front cover

Bears - Seems like Dharma did it. Costume-bearded Other told Sawyer it took him longer than the bears to get the food from the dispenser in the cage.

Iluvut34 & crabman - the troglodyte non-DVR folks such as myself thank you. Did it look like the plane in the commercial was underwater? Is this the same sections we see on the island? If so, that's interesting.

led - excellent theory.

Maybe Jack's Dad was a drunk because he knew his kids would get sucked into the island morass. Interesting.

Great show! I was ready for a big let down, but that was a great episode.

Deleted scene not in last night episode here.

Im not sure if they ever explained HOW they got there but the other did keep them in those cages becuase tom mentioned that the bears figured out the fish biscuit trick faster than sawyer did

I am starting to think that the website, find815.com, has a lot to do with this season. I have finished all 5 chapters of the game, and the final scene you get is Sam (main character on the game) locating the wreckage of flight 815, which is underwater around an area called "Black Rock". This may or may not play into this season's episodes.

I have a feeling that the Oceanic 6 are:
Jack
Kate
Hurley
Jin & Sun (she would want to get off of the island, due to her pregnancy, and the fact that all babies born on the island die)
and the 6th would be Sayid.
I have a feeling that Sayid is some kind of traitor, especially with his background.

Either way, I can't wait for next week's episode. Thank God Lost is back on the air.

i agree with sun/jin, but i definitely don't think the sixth is sayid. he was there at the beach when desmond came back, and appeared to believe charlie's message. my first guess is juliet. she wants to get off the island more than anyone else there, having been there 12 times as long (3 years v. 3 months) and has more of a connection to jack than locke.

keep in mind that this is lost, anything can and will happen. a rift could occur between jin and sun between now and rescue. on the other side, i could easily see the same thing happen between bernard and rose (imo, even more probable). the other three could be people we don't even know yet. so far, the only ones the "boat people" have had contact with are jack and kate.

is that screen shot of jack's dad in the rocking chair legit? creepy...

Am I the only one who's gone to flyoceanicair.com, per the commercial, watched the extended video and got kicked over to find815.com? Looks like they're creating a story within a story.

I went back and did frame by frame of the cabin scene and the persons face remains in the dark the entire time, unlike the picture of Jack's dad posted above. You can clearly see however, that the man in the rocking chair is wearing those all white sneakers that Jack's dad is wearing in the missing pieces part 13 clip.

I doubt Rose would be one of the six. Didn't she have cancer before coming to the island? Seems like she'd want to stay so she could live.
