London Bridge is Down

What is the ceremony you will see?
No one does ceremony pomp and circumstance better than the Brits

I ditched it. Too much hassle, and I can't see a friggin thing. So I tucked down into the Munich Cricket Club. When in London, do as the Germans do since Elizabeth was a German from the House formerly known as Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

Just to be clear, I'm actually not in London for the Queen's procession. I'm here because Mrs. Deez has a doctor's appointment here today (been scheduled for over a month), and she wanted to try for shits and giggles. It just got too crowded, and we couldn't even see where the procession would be.

Love me some German food. I would die of a coronary if I lived there.

It's really good, and I hate to admit it, but krustenbraten is one of my favorites. It's roasted pork with a layer of fat that has been crusted - meaning it has been turned into pork rind with a broiler and usually served with a dark beer sauce. Phenomenally good especially with a dunkle beer.

A cuisine for hearty appetites.

Lots of big fried meats and potatoes. Don't know why they like sauerkraut with everything though...?

Must be where Texas got chicken-fried steak from -- basically a form of beef schnitzel.

London's Fortnum & Mason makes some fine teas.
You can order it online.
(I heard they supplied the late Queen with much of her tea)
Darjeerling (NE India--Himalayan foothills) is the best!

I still like coffee the best, but my wife's got me liking fine teas a lot too. Her, and my Indian friends.

Yeah, I detest sauerkraut.

And I've thought the same thing about chicken fried steak. It's very similar to a a schnitzel but with beef (though schnitzels to are often made with veal), a heavier breading, and a cream gravy instead of a mushroom sauce.

Fortnum and Mason have been the purveyors of fine food stuffs to royalty and aristocracy for hundreds of years. Nice and interesting. to see you can order online

You can, but I'll bet the shipping to the US is ridiculous. If you really want something, I can get it and send it to you through the APO system - much cheaper.

Well, I suppose it's not cheap, but it's not too bad. They get sooooo many orders.
Baskets/Hampers make good Christmas gifts to tea lovers and Anglophiles.
They deliver to the US.
I think "Royal Blend" was the late Queen Elizabeth II's favorite.
(but try the Darjeerling)

Didn't the aggies have some sort of nickname for Longhorn fans? I seem to forget what that was...

(and I still like coffee better...)

every time I walk by a tv I see some zhit about a funerall------------did a Kardashian dies or something? They sure are making a big deal about it.

And when in NYC, drop by Sun's Tea in Chinatown. Best "tea lady" I've found, she speaks good English, and is happy to discuss her products in depth with you. Her focus in on Chinese, esp. Yunnan/Golden Dragon/Oolong/Assam, etc., but she carries some top notch Darjeerling teas from India as well...

Was working a project in India where the client was looking to expand their chemical operations but 90% of their business was tea plantations. Something like 1000 employees in chemicals and 75000 in tea. Unfortunately too small to pull it off. Instead we are finalizing a larger facility with the India’s largest company.
