As @Mr. Deez and I have warned, this behavior by GOP is extremely stupid (with a highly predictable outcome). Much smarter to ratchet up the restrictions over time. Borrow a page from the dems on this issue in how they advance their social policy.

I'm very pro-life, but for the last 20 years they haven't been very shrewd at political strategy. They were smarter in the '90s.

Why are people surprised at this? This is good negotiating strategy. The answer is not to be appalled but to negotiate (vs putting forth absolute positions). So stupid.

For negotiating to work, both sides need a clear starting point. If she won't state her stating point, there's no negotiating, which is the actual liberal purpose - to complain about conservatives to fund-raise.

Imagine a job offer where the employer says. 'you're hired'. You ask, 'what's the salary offer?' They refuse to answer. You say it needs to be $150k annually. They refuse to answer. How do you accept the job offer??

Separate but related issue: I think only states have the authority, but not an expert on the matter.
