Lane Kiffin

Last year 3 wins, no first team all conference players

This year, 11 wins, 7 first team all conference players

Dropped half a hundred on bowl opponent. Gave up 3

Sorry, Joe, but no one can match the federal government for incompetence, wasting money, and under productivity.

“People who work for the federal government, work for it for a reason NO ONE else will hire them. They can’t get a really job’”

Coaching is the finest example of the “Peter Principle”

Great point. Which brings up my “Reverse Peter Principal” philosophy, which contends that some coaches never reach their job of maximum competence because they were not highly proficient in their former roll.

With this is mind, i just wonder if Todd Orlando might be a better HC than DC. Frankly, I hope that someone gives him that chance.

Is it possible to have a “significant” conversation with Kiffin since he can’t spell the word or many others over two syllables?

Kiffin seems to be a good coach, but he tends to jump ship after a short period of time. I remember when Pat Haden fired him at the airport, then drove off leaving Kiffin without a ride at 3AM. The team bus had already left as well, so he had to call his wife to take him to campus to get all his stuff, so the story goes.

Is it fair/accurate to consider college coaching jobs as government employment?

Hahaha! Imagine if coaches were government employees. Limited to 40 hour work week, no games on any federal or state holiday, no work on weekends so no games on weekends, a high paid chach would be something like a G15 (or what ever) making something like $105K per year. One the other hand, ticket prices might drop some. Nah, fuh-ged-da-bow-dit
:e-face-shades:

Kiffin can coach a ballgame (at the college level). It's his off-the-field statements and antics that raise eyebrows.

If I’m Arkansas I hire Kiffin but write an ironclad contract loaded with behavioral and ethics clauses, and also penalties if he jumps ship early. They have the leverage, not him.

Duke, I love ya man but Kiffin has all the leverage here. He lives in Boca Raton now. He should pass on Arkie

You might be right but my take is that Kiffin wants to get back to the big time and success at AR would be a stepping stone to get him there.

I bet he brings Kendal Briles with him to be OC at Hotty Toddy. Not sure I would consider an SEC West school to be “football oblivion”.

It is if you are not LSU or Alabama. Annually fighting for 3rd in your division (with Auburn, Mississippi State, piggy and aggy) doesn't create a long association with schools that believe they are upper-level Power 5 teams.

Herman had better be hot after Kendal and not lose in a bidding war with Olé Miss.

Ole Miss has had a history of screwing over assistant coaches for 25 years. The Grove is great and has a place in college football lore. The football program died with the eligibility of Jake Gibbs and on Billy Cannon’s punt return.

Kendall can and should do better. We cannot do better for OC than Kendall
