L O S T 5/1

Creed, your point is exceedingly valid.

Don Johnson, Jack said "But I'm here and he's back on the island" about Sawyer. While this implies that Sawyer chose to remain and is alive on the island... but it doesn't say it explicitly. The only thing it says for certain is that he didn't leave with them, which doesn't rule out that he is dead. That said, I don't think they are killing Sawyer this year, and the 6 are supposed to get off the island by the end of this season. So I think your assumption is safe.

Jack also said "You aren't even related to him" implying that he knew that he was... but again, not saying it explicitly. I tend to believe that Jack DOES know, but I'm not sure.

You have to come back to Creed's point, that you really can't know much of anything yet.

I think Faraday is in the coffin.

hmmmm. that's not what I remember, but I could be wrong. I'll see if I can find a clip, or the script.

========================

Looks like you were right. The word "chose" was definately used. I was wrong.

This thread is awesome. Great complement to the show.

I missed what Hurley told Jack right before he left? Can someone fill me in and the relevance.

Thanks,

He told Jack that he'd talked to Charlie, and that he left the message for Jack that he wasn't supposed to be raising Aaron. He said Jack would be getting a visitor as well.

I don't think we know enough yet, but it looks to me as if there may have been an offer given to some if not all of the survivors to leave "under certain conditions", and it's possible the six who left were the only ones willing to go.

As far as Claire not being willing to give up Aaron, that's true, but doesn't mean she's dead. It may be that whoever brought the 6 off the island deliberately seperated Claire and Aaron to accomplish whatever the island (or someone) is trying to prevent by keeping them together.

wtf ever happened to walt. He seemed to be a integral part of where the show was going in season 1, and then, bam, nothing.

I think it was Sayid's wife in the coffin. Ben showed Sayid the traffic camera picture of the the guy who killed her in LA. Sayid seemed to have thought it had been an accedent until Ben showed him the picture.

Jack was neither friend nor family. Although, I don't know why Sayid wouldn't have been at the LA funeral, maybe preparing for the family funeral in Iraq or was somehow unable to make it.

The reason I don't think it's Sayid's wife is that it seems like Jack's meltdown is pretty well down the road in the future scenes, whereas I have a feeling that Sayid's wife was probably already dead by that time. I could be wrong I got the impression that Sayid was working with Ben relatively quickly after coming back to the island (I mean within a few months.)

As for Jack raising his dad, no way. Think about it, Hurley gives Jack that message at a time when Jack is at least marginally happy and attempting to re-establish his life. Even assuming he thought he COULD raise his father from the dead (which there's no way is true), why would he even be contemplating it at that time? Remember, this is pre-psychotic break Jack.

For him to get a warning not to raise his father, he would actually have to have been contemplating it. No way. It's Aaron.

doesnt mean much but if you had to pick a main character or at least the person(s) that drive the plot, would it be claire and aaron? kind of like how the british office was really all about pam/jim (dont remember their british version names) love story, who would fit that description for lost? every one has had a role but it seems that claire raising aaron is pivotal but no one has said why other than bad things will happen. does he end up being a mass murderer or what? i'm curious as to why its so important and hope the final season will at least explain. maybe a super flash forward where aaron is the anti christ or something ...
