L O S T 2/28

Oh yeah, I just want to add to what many other people on this thread have said...

That was the best episode of television I have ever watched.

atx, I still think it was the others. We still don't know why she left them, but my guess is the fact that she was holed up hiding from them (and the other island issues of course) has to do with what they did to her crew and likely were trying to do to her.

I did get the Slaughterhouse Five reference (i.e., "stuck in time) but I did not catch the fact that Desmon's friend's name was Billy until I read on Lostpedia.

atx - I thought it was at first. But they made it pretty clear that the crew of her ship crashed on the island and then got sick and the prof said some people get sick when they leave the island.

Since the crew of that ship never left the island, it must be a different sickness.

make sense?

Wonderful episode--does anyone know why Penny started looking for Des in 2001? It looks like Penny and Des had no contact after Des got her number in 1996, but she tells him she's been searching for him for three years when they talk in 2004. Should I just file this on the long list of questions that have yet to be answered?

how long has russo been on the island? in island time? in outside-of-island time? i tried to do a conversion but i'm not sure about my numbers...

The reason Desmond got sick on the chopper (and no one else did) is that he had been exposed to the large radiation/magnetic field when the hatch exploded.

Remember Faraday asked if Desmond had ever been exposed to radiation or magnetic fields?

i think i would **** my couch if ben is his own inside man. but now that you say it, i can totally see that.

march 22, 1845 was the date the Black Rock set sail from Porstmoth, England accoring to this episode. I'm going to go ahead and assume that's the same voyage Russo was on...that's quite a bit of time travel. Her pit hair should be a hell of a lot longer than it is, but I'll let that technicality pass.

I freakin love this damn show. and loathe my dvr for not recording it with any regularity. God bless ABC for airing episodes online.

rousseau was not on the black rock. i too think i remember her saying otherwise (though that was a long time ago), but c'mon. she doesn't seem at all like someone from 1845. she speaks modern english. she knows how to manipulate the radio to send a distress signal, despite that not even theoretical physicists would have any idea what a radio wave was for decades.

it does seem likely, however, that they've finally revealed "the sickness."

So Minkowski must have had a heavy dose of magnetism/radiation exposure?

Did he say how that happened?

That moment in the Oxford lab was kinda funny when Des asked Farrady why he didnt cover his head? He covered the jewels but not the noggin.
