Sayid and Desmond hit a bit of turbulence on the way to the freighter, which causes Desmond to experience some unexpected side effects.

I love Desmond episodes. Coupled with the badassery of Sayid, should make for another great episode.

What happened to the helicopter on the way to the freighter? Time lapse? Desmond's powers?

Well written, well acted, well filmed. The lead up to the phone call and then the call itself was excellent television.

The last 3 episodes have all built up to to a nice ending climax.

Seems like they are speeding up the storyline?

"Don't go calling Baghdad."

Did anyone catch that the captain's log for The Black Rock was previously owned by the Hanso family and they are the only one's to have ever read it's contents? And Widmore purchased it in 1996. Interesting, yes?

Normally not a fan of Jeremy Davies, but I thought he did a good job in this episode. George Minkowski's brain got short-circuited.

that was an amazing episode, the Desmond episodes are always my favorite. The last 3 minutes with the back and forth b/w Penny and Desmond were wonderful.

The Black Rock ship log is very interesting as well. I'm excited to here the LOST podcasts tomorrow should be great. Hell of a show tonight

Who opened the locked door for them? Chopper pilot?

Who is Ben's spy? Whacko dude from Smoking Aces/3:10 to Yuma?

i'm going to re-watch Flight of the Navigator now...

i hope at least one person here gets what I'm talking about.

Rex... you have a lot of catching up to do. That whole episode makes no sense without knowing Desmond's story.

In the repeat aired beforehand, the pop-ups (which I LOVE!) gave the title of the book Sawyer was reading in his house. It had to do with time-travel, but I didn't get it. Anyone?

I love that they're speeding things up. Not that I didn't just love all the other episodes, but it's nice to start really getting into it.

A week's not so bad, but considering my sister and I spent Christmas vacation watching season III, it's definitely been a little harder to wait for the next one. I'm just glad they're trying not to have too many "off weeks".

Been so long since I read Slaughterhouse 5 - I remember Billy Pilgrim and not much else!

Agreed that this was another strong episode - it definitely does seem like there's more of a sense of urgency and direction since they announced that they had a definitive end point to the show.

I agree, best LOST episode yet! Got a little choked up when Desmond told Penny he's always loved her (and I'm not easily moved), but that was great. I love the idea of time travel and how they've included it in the series. Just WOW!

And...Sayid > MacGyver. That is all.

I started crying when Desmond was talking to Penny.

What about in Faraday's notebook where it said "If anything happens, Desmond Hume is my constant"?

And could the reason for Faraday having problems remembering the cards on the island have to do with the repeated radiation exposure?

I'm almost positive it's his journal, and I think he said as much. It would be interesting to see if he's achieved a more permanent time displacement, maybe he's essentially in a full-time state now and can't get back.

That to me totally explains why first of all, he sent Dez to talk to him in the past - because HE needed a constant just as Dez did and this was his chance to establish one. As was pointed out a couple of times "if you were going to help him, why didn't you just help him in the future?" Second, it explains why he had to check his journal to begin with - I don't think that entry was there before he had Dez contact him. It's something he wrote in his journal after meeting Dez, as proof to himself that it had happened and that the past had been changed.
