Kansas @ Texas Game Thread

Our defense gave up 569 yards to the KU offense tonight
20th most in a game in program history
2nd most this season (LSU had 573 yards of total offense)

If Herman doesn’t make some type of change this week on the defensive side of the ball — and it may be incognito — I will begin to really question his judgment and courage. Also, his decision not to kick the winning FG with 8 seconds left was an amazingly stupid risk. From what I’ve seen of his decision making through 2 1-2 years, he’s just not as football savvy as I thought he would be.

Did you see OU last year ? They sucked...
Honestly, I was worried coming into the season with 8 new people on DEFENSE...losing that many had to present some challenges and now, with injuries...we are seeing how thin our defense is...
It's the offense that seems really lackluster to me....

I follow TCU as a very distant 2nd favorite college team. I'm going to the game next Sat. in Fort Worth with 2 other Horn fans. Frogs lost to KSU by 1 TD today. Patterson will have em ready - Horns are gonna get a tough game next week.

So the first question in the postgame presser was about how they need to improve the pass rush and tackling. Tom gives a terse answer, and then every other question was a softball about "oh how well did Stanley play" and "tell us how well Pooka played!"

The media that covers this team is such a bunch of ninnies. So worried about access and making sure Tom is smiling.

We should beat TCU if Sam and the WRs are on. Their offense is not dynamic like the rest of the season's opponents are. ISU, Tech, and BU will kick our *** unless we can score a lot . KSU will most likely beat us as well.

Man, Herman in the postgame, take a chill pill and go into coachspeak mode.

That was ugly with a capital U. But, I guess an ugly something is better than an ugly nothing.

Both are the same. Either you are growing towards competing for championships or you're a loser. No trophies for 2nd or 3rd place in the conference. I'm ok with growing to a champion, but we are regressing at a fast pace. This is not just about injuries. This is trying to play 9 against 11 because we have two late blitzers that are completely irrelevant to the play. I really could have cared less if we won or lost. I was hoping maybe a loss would force a change. If TO doesn't change his philosophy, we'd have been better off with an L. Some times you have to hit rock bottom before you realize you need to make a change. Hopefully tonight was rock bottom. Sure felt like it.
