Jefferson and Elliott gone to NFL, will not play in bowl

Or there is a doctor there with a link to a particular team and that could offer up an 'unofficial' medical report to said team...
I was kinda thinking the same thing. After all, what other kind of "specialist" would be working there that'd be better than you could find in Austin?

You have a point about Green Bay, but Travis County is NOT a bastion of quality healthcare. Granted there are specialists in small places, like rotatorcuff guys, but Austin has never been known to be considered with Rochester, Minn or Houston or Dallas or West LA or Johns Hopkins or Mass General or even Scott & White among others.

Tis true Sabre about Austin, but Houston certainly would qualify. Scott and White would come reallll close too.

If some specialist has a special treatment regimen that heals turf toe in half the time, you fly to him/her. Athletes do that for multiple maladies.

BUT...that travel costs $$$ and I doubt the Athletics Department is footing the bill for out-of-state travel on medical issues. And one can reasonably presume that with professional franchises in two major metropolitan areas of Texas, specialists could be located within a few hours drive from Austin if the ones in Travis County weren't worth a damn...

...just sayin'

If Texas isn't paying for the trip Jefferson is as good as gone as I doubt his family can pay for the trip so that means agent pay in some form. No matter how hard they would try to hide the agent activity, eventually the truth would come out. Texas doesn't need that hanging over their head.

I don't know the situation, but airfare and hotel bills should fit on a reasonable credit card for a few months. And he had health insurance.

Regardless if he was injured during a game, during practice, or on his own time, he is still a scholarship athlete, and The University should pay all cost even if the specialist is in China, Germany, or the South Pole. Anything less is classless ********, but that's what we have come to expect from our administration.

I read that the injury is "turf toe". That ain't good.

Herman says he's day-to-day, but I think he's being very optimistic.

agreed. i was thinking along the line of...
UT: We're sending you to Dr FootGuy on Lamar.
Malik: I think I'm going to the best Dr Footguy in the country.
UT: OK, well the insurance will cover, but travel is on you.
