Jamal Charles not getting enough respect

Jamaal Charles' 2 huge 2007 RRS mistakes still leave me with cold chills and a hole in my wall...

goodbye, good luck

Next?

Ho hum, another day another group of people slamming the best offensive player on our team last year.

JC will not be a round 1 guy regardless of the time he runs. We all expect him to run well, 4.4 range. That will be needed to get him into the 2nd. There are just many backs this year that project better.

As far as Houston goes, they will be picking too high in round 1 to get him there. Texans don’t have a 2nd rounder and it’s unsure if he’ll be there in round 3. It would be stupid if the Texans did not draft a RB before the 3rd round, unless FA. And since Charlie isn’t running things anymore (THANK GOD!) I feel that the Texans will draft one in the first, possibly Stewart (UO) or Mendenhall (ILL).

JC will probably be a 2nd round pick. If he continues to work on things he can be a good NFL back.

The good thing is that after his "easier yards" with VY at QB he figured out he'd have to work hard to make his due. After a down year he finally started running again like we all thought he would.

If he continues to work hard he will be a very good back after two or three years.

Speed kills and Jamaal has it. The two guys that I think are head and shoulders above everybody are Mendenhall and McFadden. After those two I think it's: Jamaal, Smith, and Felix Jones, but not necessarily in that order. I'm not really impressed with Stewart and have always thought Rice was a nice player for Rutgers, but was a bit slow.

In no way shape or form was Limas Sweed our best player last season. He was injured in preseason and therefore limited.

If you'd draft Mike Hart before Jamaal Charles then you're a fool

IMO, Jamaal is going to be hurt by the Titans Chris Henry...

I know this isnt the best comparison seeing as Jamaal's college career is 10 times that of C.H.'s.

But last year Henry was unreal in his workouts. He was able to shoot WAY up the draft boards to round 2. Now while Henry had his moments, and shows some promise. I think its safe to say that he was not round 2 material. He was only drafted bc of his great workout and potential.

I think if Jamaal does get picked in the first 2 rounds it is going ot be because someone has faith in his football skills. But I dont think someone is going to jump at Jamaal just because he had a good combine or pro day.

Jamal has terrific potential and had some awesome moments this year. He also almost lost his job and did lose alot of playing time early on in the year because he couldn't hang onto the rock. Top draft RB picks are not usually also guys who were in danger of losing their job during the same year they came out early.

I hope he kills at the combine and disproves all of of this, but the fact is, he was improving but not yet a complete back. Watch back the tapes and you'll see him going down easier from arm tackles and glancing blows than any other back expected to be drafted ahead of him or a long ways behind him. That's not a good NFL quality.

I think a lot of y'all are underestimating Charles. You are basing way too much on some of his mid season struggles. Charles will go second round easy once teams watch how dominant he can be. I think this is especially likely now that teams are largely going to having two running backs who can start.

Another thing that a lot of people are forgetting is that while Jamaal is the fastest back in the draft bar none, he may not be the quickest.

Jamaal's blazing fast 10.14 100m dash time might not translate too well in the 40 yrd dash.

People are forgeting about ECU's scat back Chris Johnson who makes Darren Sproles look like a snail.

BE WARNED

*******It is very possible the Chris Johnson will have a better 40 time the Charles.********
