INFLATION--FED's cutting rates again...

“We’re trying to achieve a situation where we restore price stability without the kind of painful increase in unemployment that has come sometimes with this inflation," Powell said. "That’s what we’re trying to do, and I think you could take today’s action as a sign of our strong commitment to achieve that goal.”

BS. Prices never stabilized and now inflation is going to go back up.

The reason they are doing this now is to prevent a stock market crash right before the election. This is to elect QueMala.

If the government really wanted to reduce inflation they would cut government spending.

The fact that abortion is #2 and corrupt government is not on the list is alarming.
Historical irony—

A significant part of the early Progressive movement’s platform was fighting government corruption. Tammany Hall was a major enemy of the Progressives.

Another irony is that what Progressive called corruption was what everyone before and since has called patronage. It isn't corruption. It's politics. More irony, is that Progressives have built massive patronage systems of their own with the goal of destroying America. They are largely successful.

If I was cynical, I might even think the Fed was manipulating the economy to help Kamala win the election. The inflation will likely hit after early November has come and gone, but the employment, transactions, housing, and business effects of lower interest rates will start almost right away.

The majority of "jobs created" over the past 3 1/2 years were either post-COVID returnees or government positions. Eliminated those two groups and the job creation numbers turn pathetic.

They should have done nothing until the election smoke clears and the children are sent home.

Inflation is the government stealing from you. Just sayin'. Cutting rates now is stealing from you and your children. We should be rioting in the streets.

They never cared about corruption. They cared about corruption that they weren't able to exploit.

One of the core tenets of Progressivism was to create a sort of meritocracy. Meritocracy is a Progressive idea. Universal decent public education was a big part of that. Standardized testing eventually came about through the Progressive movement's massive influence on schools.

No child labor and workplace safety were other big tenets.

Also, they were very concerned about the problem shown in the comedy film Idiocracy.

Progressivism is the primary force that's leading to the Idiocracy problem.

In its earlier days, it was the opposite. The Progressives were very concerned with higher intelligence people breeding less and lower intelligence people breeding more. Things like Planned Parenthood were created to deal with this perceived problem.

In the inner circles of Democratic Party leadership, they still care a great deal about this issue.

The Federal Reserve System itself sprang out of the Progressive movement. Jekyl Island, Georgia.

What you see in the left-leaning/"progressive" government today...

Most of it, in one way or another, traces back to Woodrow Wilson.

Woodrow Wilson was the Godfather of all American Progressives. The Federalist Society especially loathes Woodrow Wilson.

I was about to give you a stern lecture but you addressed it in your last sentence.

I'm sorry but Wilson was not the godfather for Progressivism. He wasn't even the first Progressive President. That would be Teddy Roosevelt. He was very consequential though, no doubt.

Yes. It was called eugenics. Nazis got many of their ideas from American eugenicists.

In the roots of all sorts of these tyrannical movements is the intense desire to control other people.

It's psychological damage that supports the very way they view the world and the way they think--perhaps progressives, nazis, communists, etc. were deprived of love or otherwise traumatized very early in childhood.

They must control other people. It's an intense burning desire that cannot be satisfied. Seeing free-spirited people running around free and doing their own thing deeply disturbs them.

Progressives' principal adversary in this country was the Catholic Church.

Abortion, private Church schools, etc.

Theoretical issue:

If money is just illusory (and it is), is it even possible to "steal" money?

You'd be stealing something that doesn't really exist.

[now don't you go steal some money and try to tell that to the judge...]

Completely false, unless maybe if you are talking specifically fiat currency. Real money like gold and silver have value as a commodity which facilitates its use as money.

This is misconception that conservatives have about economics. They say they aren't Keynesian but then their economic assumptions are all Keynesian.

We have fiat currency. So does just about every other country.
