There were some questionable things in the Gallagher matter, but he was acquitted on the murder charge. He was convicted of posing with a casualty, and my understanding is that he was guilty of that. I don't see any reason to prevent him from being demoted for that. He broke that law, and it's a law that exists for good reason.

On TV this am, Schiff appeared to open the door to a "censure" over impeachment.
Which I suspect is a sign their whip count did not go well the first go round.
Plus, the polling is not good for them either after that snoozefest of an inquiry featuring whining bureaucrats
 
One hope some of them seem to be clinging to is that John Bolton will be allowed to testify (unlikely) and will somehow support Fiona Hill's version of the world. She testified under oath that Bolton saw eye-to-eye with her on Trump.

But I call bullshyte on this. Bolton cant stand people like Fiona Hill. She is a haughty Harvard/Hillary/Soros person from Brookings, the UN and the Hague. Bolton has been battling these types of people his entire professional life. I got ten bucks that says he hates her.

It’s not about him but setting an example for others. Happened to my Dad at VMI in ‘44-45 during the war. The CO over-reacted in his case, possibly what is happening today. At end of day, some sort of deterrent will be applied. My dad ended up hiking 20 miles with full backpack vs cleaning stalls and bathrooms for a week.

Every suspicion associated with a family conflict of interest is legitimate. That's probably why the mere appearance of a conflict is enough to force someone to remove themselves from the situation. If it were Trump's children there would have been an investigation conducted by the House. We all know it. And nothing would ever be debunked. It would be assumed as fact that the exact same situation with the Trump's substituted for the Biden's was an act of corruption and another quid pro quo: "Hire my son and and I'll take care of you."

The mere accusations of corruption and the baiting of Trump to Tweet his displeasure is all they have and in some ways it is very effective. I hope the American people are not so exhausted that they capitulate and give in to the constant drumbeat.

You mean the two that have not passed the REQUIRED background investigation to work in the White House? And, Kushner lied on his initial submission. I think that is considered perjury, correct? That's impeachable. :)

You want bribery - let's look at the Biden Family
You want abuse of power. let's look at what Joe did as the VP
You want quid pro quo, let's look at Joe's own public admissions/brags of how he secured the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor.

If you really care about bribery, abuse of power and quid pro quos at the Executive Branch level, then let's look at those acts. But they dont want to and wont.

Why is that?
