Impeachment

My group is good. That means we get to go where we want, when we want, and do what we want.

Your group is bad. That means anything you do is an expression of your guilt. Also, because everything you do is bad, if I am aware of your group's activity I am justified to stop it. If I punch you, it is your fault. You shouldn't exist.

E. Warren has pledged to fire all of Trump's "political appointees" on her first day in office. What is that all about? It happens... we know that. If the Obama Ambassador's are that traumatized then they should have become accountants for a living.
Not unique to the White House either...even incoming Sheriff's across Texas in smaller Counties have been known to dismiss every deputy that supported the predecessor in a contested election cycle. Where there was NOT a contested election, the incoming Sheriff is often what amounted to a hand-picked successor to the previous Sheriff.

I've also seen it with District Attorney and County Attorney staff...new DA and they shuttle a lot of the experience to the door. Leaves a huge void that is not easily or quickly replaced...

Here is the speech made by Michael Douglas' character (the President of the good old US of A) at the end of the movie, The American President. This movie, in my humble opinion, is clearly written from a Liberal point of view. But it was highly entertaining and this speech was delivered in expert fashion by Douglas. Look at what I bolded down below. Isn't that what we're talking about when it comes to the opinions of others?

Reporter: Robyn, will the President ever respond to Senator Rumson's question about being a member of the American Civil Liberties Union?

President Shepherd: Yes, he will. Good morning. [Members of the White House Press Corps begin to rise] It's alright. Please keep your seats. Good morning.

For the last couple of months, Senator Rumson has suggested that being President of this country was, to a certain extent, about character. And although I've not been willing to engage in his attacks on me, I have been here three years and three days, and I can tell you without hesitation: Being President of this country is entirely about character.

For the record, yes, I am a card-carrying member of the ACLU, but the more important question is "Why aren't you, Bob?" Now this is an organization whose sole purpose is to defend the Bill of Rights, so it naturally begs the question, why would a senator, his party's most powerful spokesman and a candidate for President, choose to reject upholding the constitution? Now if you can answer that question, folks, then you're smarter than I am, because I didn't understand it until a few hours ago.

America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say, "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours." You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms.

Then you can stand up and sing about the land of the free.

I've known Bob Rumson for years. And I've been operating under the assumption that the reason Bob devotes so much time and energy to shouting at the rain was that he simply didn't get it. Well, I was wrong. Bob's problem isn't that he doesn't get it. Bob's problem is that he can't sell it!

We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you Bob Rumson is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things, and two things only: making you afraid of it, and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections. You gather a group of middle age, middle class, middle income voters who remember with longing an easier time, and you talk to them about family, and American values and character, and you wave an old photo of the President's girlfriend and you scream about patriotism. You tell them she's to blame for their lot in life. And you go on television and you call her a *****.

Sydney Ellen Wade has done nothing to you, Bob. She has done nothing but put herself through school, represent the interests of public school teachers, and lobby for the safety of our natural resources. You want a character debate, Bob? You better stick with me, 'cause Sydney Ellen Wade is way out of your league.

I've loved two women in my life. I lost one to cancer. And I lost the other 'cause I was so busy keeping my job, I forgot to do my job. Well, that ends right now.

Tomorrow morning the White House is sending a bill to Congress for it's consideration. It's White House Resolution 455, an energy bill requiring a twenty percent reduction of the emission of fossil fuels over the next ten years. It is by far the most aggressive stride ever taken in the fight to reverse the effects of global warming. The other piece of legislation is the crime bill. As of today, it no longer exists. I'm throwing it out. I'm throwing it out and writing a law that makes sense. You cannot address crime prevention without getting rid of assault weapons and hand guns. I consider them a threat to national security, and I will go door to door if I have to, but I'm gonna convince Americans that I'm right, and I'm gonna get the guns.

We've got serious problems, and we need serious people. And if you want to talk about character, Bob, you'd better come at me with more than a burning flag and a membership card. If you want to talk about character and American values, fine. Just tell me where and when, and I'll show up. This a time for serious people, Bob, and your fifteen minutes are up.

Sounds like Commerce Street in early October. :)

Moreover, FDR was a National Socialist. You don't think just because Hitler was one that no one else could be one either, did you? Pretty much every European government after World War 2 was National Socialist including England. The US of A was super against them, right? West Germany was less National Socialist than France and Spain. Even Sweden.

Good thing us Americans destroyed them all after we destroyed our President.

I don't begrudge anyone hiring their own people. That's what makes Trump's treatment of the Ambassador so odd. He could have just replaced her with no drama. However, for some reason he chose to do it over a year or so and do it for cause and to make it "a thing". To the point of her being mentioned on the call in that "she's going to go through some things". Just replace her as is your prerogative. To do anything other than that raises questions as to the why/how.

Where do the Haters get these whacked out ideas?
Schiff: If Trump Isn’t Removed He ‘Could Offer Alaska to the Russians in Exchange for Support in the Next Election’
"Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election or decide to move to Mar-a-Lago permanently and let Jared Kushner run the country,"
Schiftt is hurting the Dems.
Carry on Adam
Reminds me of Cliff Claven’s two men that have never been in my kitchen answer in jeopardy. I mean, it’s not untrue but...

If I were a thinking person sympathetic to what the Democrats are doing I would be offended that he thought I was so dumb. His cynicism is unbelievable. He believes these outlandish fear tactics will work.

He really thinks somebody out here is that stupid.

He's throwing out outlandish scenarios to highlight that he could actually do those things with no impunity. He could LITERALLY gun down John Bolton and the Senate would not react.

You know, I think you're alright man but don't think that it's that bad.

In my view, the CLEAR hatred of Conservative by Liberals is the driving force. It's not the Ukraine situation. They F'ing hate Conservatives. They savaged George Bush (now loved by the Obama's; they love a "war criminal." What gives?) so the tweets are really just cover for the ultimate prize. Greta's "how dare you" is what is happening. The desire to use the impeachment process as a tool to overturn the election was clear from the beginning.

Because of that, you don't see any sympathy or open minds on the right. Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, AOC, Harris, Sanders, Warren et al have destroyed the sober-minded view of reality. Their hatred is so repulsive that we can't make heads or tails of the truth; so instead we react to THEM and not any of the facts.

The vision for America is the real battle. Trump, regardless of his personal manner is nothing except a very effective advocate for a certain vision.

And the Left HATES THAT VISION. It's nothing new.

That may be the dumbest thing you have ever written here.
I've said much dumber stuff. Joe can help you with that part. That said, do you believe that the senate would hold him accountable for anything? They might once he's lame duck. That could be his future. He'll get re-elected and then the Cruz/Rubio/etc. will have their revenge as they clutch their pearls over his boorish behavior like he was Shakira/JLo at the halftime show and replace him with Mike Pence as they try to move the GOP back to normalcy.

I liked W. I voted for him at least once. Honestly, I don't remember who I voted for in 2000 but took heart in the fact that my decision really meant nothing as I was not in a swing state. I defended him on Sooner political boards. I don't think I was here then.

Yes. Are you kidding? That is one thing Dems do is stick together no matter how idiotic they are. Trump has Republicans speaking out all the time against things he does that they don't agree with.

Mike Lee, one of Trump's most ardent supporters railed on the way the Trump administration handled the Iran thing a few weeks ago.

I'll wait for any reminders of Democrats speaking out against Obama.

Obama mocked Mitt Romney for engaging in Cold War thinking when Mitt identified Russia as our number one geopolitical threat.

On Obama's watch Russia hacked our servers, apparently impacted our election in some way or another, annexed Crimea and caused mischief in the Middle East. He also told President Medvedev that he would have more flexibility after the election. This was a clear signal that he would change his tune and work with them.

Work with them. Is that collusion?

There has been ZERO concern about any of this from our media. Was Obama incompetent? Putin schooled him in some ways. Where is the deep analysis of how Obama whiffed in his desire to make a political soundbite evidenced by the obsession today with Russia?

Working with them as an ally is what President's are supposed to do. Working with them when you're running for President is not the same thing.

I saw a lot of Dem's unhappy with some of Obama's policies, specifically with Syria, Iraq, etc.

Vocal critic is one thing. Voting to impeach or even voting to hear witness testimony would have found their head on a stick like Shep Smith's.

House should have called the witnesses. That has been :deadhorse: to death.

It's ********. "We didn't do our jobs, so you damn well better do it."

Absolutely freaking ludicrous to buy into that BS.

I agree working with an ally is part of the job. Even with an enemy if you can square things up in a peaceful way that decreases the possibility of war. Real Politik sometimes requires eating our values to get along (or get our way?).

But Obama's comment sounded awful. It smacked of, "Once I'm done lying to the American people I'll do things differently than what I've been telling them."

I'm aware of dissent from the Left. The black church (there goes another broadbrush) was uncomfortable with his stance on gay marriage. They are Christians after all. What should they say? Also, Ruben Navarette Jr. SKEWERED Obama over his immigration policies, calling him a hypocrite and using them as pawns during an election cycle. But you had to look for these stories. They weren't front and center EVERY DAY, published by Liberal bloggers on Yahoo or the opinion makers on CNN or MSNBC. They protected Obama from all of this.

It's ridiculous to ignore it. Clinton's impeachment had witnesses that did depositions. I think Andrew Johnson's had 26 witnesses and 17 of them were not witnesses in the House. Call it what you will but it's not wanting to know the facts.

Yawn.

House did its job in those proceedings. Senate did not give in to the shoddy rush job by Shifty and his co-conspirators.
