I have a mancrush on Memphis...

We are really impressed by the evaluation of a guy who holds Barry Switzer and his band of model citizens up as role models. Thanks for straightening out our unreasonable expectations of program ethics, sooner.
 
i really didn't hold memphis in that high of a moral regard but when they just gave Tx the ball at the end i was impressed. they could have jacked up a 3 like they did vs ucla but instead said to hell with it.

looking back on it, that might have been a slap in the face. eitehr way, at the time, it was a 'classy' move.

My extended family lives in Memphis. I also have the misfortune of having to travel to Memphis twice a month for business.

You know how people say even nice cities have "ghettos" or "bad areas"? Well, ALL OF MEMPHIS is that way. Every last square inch of that town is dirty, nasty ghetto. The whole city looks like New Orleans the day after Katrina.

While many cities claim to be nice with a few bad areas, Memphis is all ghetto with a couple of decent areas (Germantown, Cordova).
 
Um ... some of you are sour grapes. They outplayed us. Doesnt make them saints but doesnt make them sinners.

I have no inside info but I doubt Calipari is fundamentally more "dirty" than othe D1coaches at major programs. Seems not to be a job for the squeamish at that level.
 
I have no problem with the way they play, their dunks or anything else with the players, other than the fact they play for their crap coach. A dirty, good for nothing lying scumbag. If he never won another game I would still wish for him to lose.
 
SLX-I am with you on this. I think KU has a real shot. They have better inside people especially scoring people and on the other side how do they stop or slow down Memphis guards? KU has been holding oppenents to under 40% FG shooting all year and did it to NC. If they play defense like that Monday night they win IMO. I just can't believe Self would even consider OSU and Pickens money. I think the guy isn't that type of money says it all type. I think he is secure at KU and will get a big raise and stay, but stranger things have happened. Maybe Pickens should offer the money to Calapari!
 
You don't like them because they dunked and were hanging on the rim for a second. Did you dislike the fab 5 for the way they played. They brought this style of basketball to the mainstream. They were cocky, flashy, and didn't respect ANYONE.
 
Barnes was a guest on the College Sports channel yesterday in San Antonio... he said he expected both teams to try to beat the other down court because both play defense so well.

RB also said that he had said KU was the best team Texas had played... until Memphis beat them.
