after the win on friday i said: i'm wearing this shirt again on Sunday and i have to find another sticker for sunday... i did neither. This ones on me guys, sorry.
I went to the game and sat next to 30k orange clad lame *** so called horn fans. I realize the team needs to give fans something to cheer about but we were beyond pathetic.
I walked back into the Billy Goat Hill tent at Disch Falk late after halftime - right when we made it 39-34. Things changed immediately. It's my fault.
I was playing basketball with friends at the Y and lost track of time. Plus I picked up Mickey D's on the way home instead of BK. Put some of the blame on me.
Did not tailgate before as I did before the Stanford game. I had to fly back to Houston Sunday morning and it started raining on us when walking to a tailgate, but still no excuse.
Also, wore my UT shirt that failed us at the a&m football game. Though the shirt did witness both Rose Bowls seasons (including the Rose Bowls) and helped fuel a comeback against tech last football season when I put it on at halftime. What should I do with the shirt? Respectfully retire it?
I told everyone at my west coast office that UT would beat UCLA again in S.A. I not only jinxed the team and overlooked Memphis, but I have people at both the west coast office and my office asking me "what happened to texas" all freakin day!
I put my Horns cap on my dog right before the game, and she immediately barfed on my Horns rug. This did not sit well with my framed VY Rose Bowl poster, which had gone slightly askew.
But I didn't think twice about any of that until I saw this thread...
I had doubts before the game, as opposed to being pretty confident when playing miami and stanford.(gut feeling) The liver is evil, it must be punished.
My in-laws (Tarheel fans) were in town, and we left home midway through the first half for a choir concert. (Yes, it's true.) We watched on the DVR when we got home, without knowing the outcome, but I now realize the vibrations from my lucky hat could not permeate the ether since the game was already over.
I will watch every big game live from now on. I apologize for my shameful acts, and I humbly repent.
It's my fault. I was in Las Vegas. I didn't bring a burnt orange shirt and was wearing my gray Texas shirt instead. Plus I bet on us, which lately has been the kiss of death.
As an old guy used to say at Staff Meetings when I was a young pup, and I paraphrase, " I cannot add to nor delete from that which has already been said by J40Dogg."
I decided to leave my Longhorn Texas Flag flying in front of the Horn69 Manse for the duration of the week to help rid itself of all prior curses.
I should have realized that 'freeball friday' was only a friday thing. 'freeball sunday' doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Guess I should pack an extra pair of boxers next time.
While this may be an insignificant event for most, I rarely do this for UT games and have NEVER done it for a UT game of this magnitude.
On top of that, my girlfriend was included in my 'game-watching' group...she's an aggie. On top of that, she and I have attended the last two UT/A&M football games together (and we know how those have turned out).
On top of all of that, I'm about to ask her to marry me
