The bombs are open, that’s why. Ewers has been better in practice. He has not done it in games. UT cannot win the SEC or the B12 this year if our quarterback can’t throw an accurate deep ball. Why are we only calling bombs or horizontal passes near or behind the LOS when we can't accurately the former? It's like the 5 to 20 yard range doesn't exist.
Based on your comment, wouldn't you want a more mobile QB in there? Both backups QBs can scramble. So, we’ve got two backup QBs that have never played a down and people wanna dump Ewers? I put much more of the blame on the oline.
Malik no but Arch can move.Based on your comment, wouldn't you want a more mobile QB in there? Both backups QBs can scramble.
If defense is the star this year, I can see alternating Ewers and Murphy to keep opposing defenses on their toes.Based on your comment, wouldn't you want a more mobile QB in there? Both backups QBs can scramble.
Probably have enough video from several games last season to show what not to do. That should’ve been corrected in the off-season.Ewers has missed Worthy twice downfield that could have been a td. The one where Worthy tried to make a circus catch on an underthrown ball and on that last drive. Different feel if he hits those. Coaches will have a lot on tape to show what not to do.
i have been saying this also.This. Been saying it since last year.
I think a better question should be why aren't we throwing more intermediate passes which he seems to excel at.WHY CANT EWERS HIT A DEEP PASS!
Maybe Sark has a new plan. Instead of playing lights out in the first half, making no adjustments and sucking *** in the second half. We are going to suck in the first half, make several adjustments and play lights out in the second half.
So, we’ve got two backup QBs that have never played a down and people wanna dump Ewers? I put much more of the blame on the oline.
Well Sark may be the problem. His fourth down play calling looks like last year as well.Probably have enough video from several games last season to show what not to do. That should’ve been corrected in the off-season.
According to sarkisian, ewers is more mature and has taken his role as qb of the Texas Longhorns more seriously.
It’s only the season opener, but I haven’t seen much difference. Hopefully my opinion, which doesn’t count for much, will be of a more positive one by the time this one is over.
It’s hard for me to make hard conclusions on limited plays—can’t be sure where the WR is supposed to be, etc. but the eye test is bad: he doesn’t look confident, balanced, in leadership mode.OL not close to being dominant and Ewers has no mobility. That’s a very bad combination. Couple that with his inability to throw an accurate long pass and the first half was shockingly disappointing.
