Horns - Gators Game Thread

I have been saying that QE must have been still feeling the effects of the injury. Hard to know how he would do against Georgia, but he looked like the old QE yesterday. Accurate long balls, scrambled for almost a first down. Moore should have had the ball that was just slightly overthrown a play or two after he dropped the perfectly thrown deep ball.

I agree HIC, I felt that there had to be something not right with QE. I was hoping and praying that it was his injury and not a loss of confidence.

Great game. That's what we needed to see. I was a little hard on the team last week and I was wrong. Too emotional.

Just watched the game again while "working."

The right side of the OL is just not alright. I'm worried that every opponent from here on out will take advantage of it. Campbell wasn't visualizing nearly any of the pressure situations, while Williams (albeit hurt for some of the game) can't get out quickly enough or prevent most moves to get back inside of his left shoulder. Hence the penalties.

Our run game would be infinitely better if they could go right. It's almost like a comical Zoolander sketch at this point. None of the backs are particularly good at helping QE identify where the defense is coming from, and I think Majors needs to do a better job communicating that presnap.

Trey Moore finally showed why he's here.

Anthony Hill is our best LB since... Malik? He's probably better than Malik. He's not quite in Derrick Johnson territory yet, but he's arguably a much better pro prospect than Overshown was, and Overshown is putting up some good numbers this year.

The DBs looked so good for the majority of the game. I don't think I'm ready to re-dub us "DBU" yet, but we're getting there. Whether it was Guilbeau making up for a penalty with his pressure, or TyAnthony Smith being in the right place at the right time, they've been working leaps and bounds compared to the DB situation just a year or two ago.

One might say that Bond is fast. That fake reverse, zone read, real reverse play will be studied by every HS and college coach for the foreseeable future.

I love me some Hill and Simmons. Headdy football players whom i believe will be first round draftees.
I have a feeling that Simmons is going to get typecast as a tweener. He's listed as 6'3" 245 but he's probably 6'1" 230 in real life. This could also be due to him purposefully going to "OLB" size instead of Edge because he knows that's the best chances for the eventual NFL Draft.

He'll be disruptive for us, but his NFL paycheck might rely on his ability to play OLB.

Yeah I thought the tv commentary was ok but the constant breaking game telecast for non field cameras riled me some. Way too long on ‘other’ subjects.
